Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Leave Arusha town soon for Tarangire National Park. Lured by its winding river in the dry season, herds of animals pour into this park which boasts the highest recorded number of breeding species for any habitat in the world. The park boasts a huge elephant population. Rolling hills and an open savanna dotted with the majestic upside down baobab trees, believed by the Maasai to be the first tree of creation, offer a picturesque background. Dinner and overnight will be at Octagon Lodge.

Day 2: Octagon - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, set off to Serengeti National Park with an optional tour of Olduvai Gorge. Serengeti National Park is truly Tanzania’s best-known park. It contains up to three million large animals. Wildebeests, zebras, and Thomson gazelles make their continental migration in search of greener pastures within the endless plains of the Serengeti. The immensity of these plains is truly overwhelming. Dinner and overnight will be at Mbugani Camps.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy an early morning game drive, when the wildlife is most active. After breakfast, continue game viewing until lunchtime. Lunch will be followed by a drive to Ngorongoro Crater with an optional tour of Olduvai Gorge. Dinner and overnight will be on the crater rim, at the park’s excellent Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater - Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, descend down the crater pass through a dense green canopy of forest and hold your breath. The entire world is laid out below in the largest perfect caldera. The 11 miles (18 kilometers) wide crater has been compared with the Garden of Eden, with its swamps, lakes, rivers, hills, and its prolific animal kingdom. The exhilarating drive from the crater rim down 2.000 feet into the crater is truly unforgettable. Later in the afternoon, you will ascend to and driver for dinner and overnight at Octagon Tented Lodge.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The park offers dramatic views over lush groundwater-fed forests and the stunning Lake Manyara. The forests are thick with mahogany, sausage trees, star grass, and other impressive varieties of flora. Wildlife is abundant, with over 380 species of birds.
