Accommodation

The Ark Lodge

The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, The Ark comprises of three decks from wherein numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen. So that you don’t miss any animal sightings, the night guard will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole. The Ark has four viewing areas for observing the ever-present animal activity. There is also a ground level bunker, the perfect hideout for the discerning photographer. This is a circular pillbox-like structure, and it is from this vantage point that pictures of animals on the salt lick only yards away may be taken through the view holes in complete safety.

Ashnil Samburu Camp

Set in the spectacular backdrop of the Mighty Ol Olokwe mountain fronting Ewaso Nyiro River, Ashnil Samburu Camp is a luxury tented camp. It has 30 exclusive luxury tents are spread out along the shady banks of the river under a thick stand of doum palms. It features an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by sun lounges, a garden, and a lounge bar offering views of the African savannah. Each tent features a decked terrace with views of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The restaurant offers views of the river and serves a variety of menus comprising of Oriental, traditional, and international cuisines. A range of activities are available on request and comprise of game drives, nature walks, and a cultural visit to the Samburu Village, bush meals like bush lunch/dinner and sundowners.

Sweetwaters Tented Camp

Accommodation at Sweetwaters Camp in Kenya is comprised of 56 tents, each with its own en-suite bathroom, hot and cold running water, 24-hour hot showers, and flushing water closets. All the tents have canvas interiors, solid floors, and separate thatched roofs.

Electricity is provided by a 24-hour generator. Fourteen of the tents are on raised platforms with private balconies. The rest have private verandas, all with safari chairs and tables.

Extra beds and cots can also be provided. Each tent features either a king-sized double bed or two twin beds. Mosquito nets are provided, as are hot water bottles at night.

Lake Nakuru Lodge

Lake Nakuru Lodge is a beautiful eco-lodge situated inside Lake Nakuru National Park, boasting unobstructed views of the lake and wildlife.

This property also has one of the best-rated locations in Nakuru. It offers accommodation with free Wi-Fi, seating area, and flat-screen TV. There is a private bathroom with bath and free toiletries in each unit, along with a hair dryer.

The lodge offers accommodation in 95 spacious rooms which have a glass sliding door, all with en-suite bathrooms with permanent showers and great views of the park, garden, or lake, and two suites with a private veranda and sitting room. They also have four rooms for special needs guests.

Ashnil Mara Luxury Tented Camp

Ashnil Mara Camp, with 50 luxury tents, is located in the Masai Mara National Reserve and close to the Mara River, famous for the wildebeest migration. This luxury Masai Mara camp is arguably in one of the very best positions in the Masai Mara for game viewing and also provides the perfect setting to sit and relax at the end of a exciting day of game drives. The Ashnil Mara Camp is a four to five hour drive from Nairobi.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi to Aberdare

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport in the morning and depart for Aberdare arriving with a short game drive at The Ark hotel in Nyeri. Afternoon transfer to The Ark, check in, and have lunch. The Ark has four viewing decks with balconies and lounges to provide superb game viewing from the comfort of the lodge. The animals come to you. Later dinner and overnight at The Ark hotel.

Day 2: Aberdares to Samburu

Early breakfast at your hotel, short game en-route, leave Aberdare for Samburu arriving with a short game drive in time for lunch and check in at Ashnil camp to have lunch and relax. Later afternoon game drive across the park which is a unique resident wildlife species like the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, beisa oryx, and the blue legged somali ostrich. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil camp.

Day 3: Samburu

Early morning game drive game drive return back to camp for breakfast. After breakfast full day spend in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents. Meals and overnight at Ashnil camp.

Day 4: Samburu to Sweetwaters

Early morning breakfast game en-route leave Samburu for Sweetwaters arriving in time for lunch and check in at Sweetwaters Luxury Tented Camp. Sweetwaters is the only sanctuary for rehabilitation in Kenya of the widely abused chimpanzees with two groups living in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. The site is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area. Afternoon game drives across the park. Later return for dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Luxury Tented Camp.

Day 5: Sweetwaters - Lake Nakuru

Early morning breakfast game en-route leave Sweetwaters for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch and check in at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Afternoon game drive across the Pink Lake often referred so due to its great masses of flamingos not forgetting the famous white rhino and black rhino found in this park. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara

Early morning breakfast. After breakfast leave Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch. Check in at Ashnil Mara camp or Mara Sorova Camp and have lunch. Afternoon game drive through the park in search of the lion, cheetah, elephant, and buffalo. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Mara camp or Mara Sorova Camp.

Day 7: Maasai Mara

Early morning game drive and return back to camp for breakfast. After breakfast full day spend in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well known predators and their opponents; zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, and the dangerous crocodiles with a visit to Mara River. Meals and overnight at Ashnil Mara camp or Mara Sorova Camp.

Day 8: Masai Mara to Nairobi

Early morning breakfast at your camp or lodge. Check out of the camp and park. Drive to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Lunch afterwards drop off at your respective hotel or airport.

  • Optional to those with flights: if you have evening flight you can do more game drive with packed lunch till lunch time, you arrive in Nairobi at around 5 to 6 p.m.
