6 Days Masai Mara Governor Camp safari
Day 1: Nairobi to Wilson Airstrip to Masai mara safari
After arriving at Nairobi International Airport, you will meet the tour representative who is waiting to receive and brief you about your safari. Then, drive to Wilson Airport to catch the 9 a.m. Governors Aviation flight direct to the Mara, arriving at the Governors’ airstrip at approximately 11 a.m.
You will enjoy a short game drive en route to the camp. Lunch in camp; relax after lunch and then afternoon game drive to explore the Masai Mara National Reserve, returning to camp before sundown. Pre-dinner drinks around the campfire, a candlelit dinner in the dining tent, and overnight at Governors’ Camp.
Day 2-3: Masai Mara Game Reserve (Governors’ Camp)
The next two days are spent game viewing in Kenya's finest wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. Your morning and afternoon game drives take you in search of Africa's Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Masai Mara offers fantastic orange-tinged sunset’s well-worth capturing on camera.
The Masai Mara Game Reserve is 1510km² of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife.
Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impala, hartebeests, and wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but reasonably common.
The ultimate action here is without doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October.
Hot-air balloon trips are an entirely outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains teeming with wildlife. These Masai Mara balloon trips can be arranged at extra cost. Dinner and overnight at Governors Camp.
Day 4-5: Masai Mara Game Reserve (Governors’ Camp)
Early morning game drives at dawn, returning to the Camp for breakfast. A 10:30 a.m. game drive, returning to the camp for lunch. Join a 3:30 p.m. game drive, returning to camp before sundown. Dinner and overnight Governors’ Camp.
Optional extras are available from Governors’ Camps in addition to the three daily game drives, such as guided game walking safaris with one of the camps’ resident professional guides, followed by a full-cooked champagne bush breakfast. Afternoon walking safaris with sundowners are also available. Exciting flying safaris to Lake Victoria and bird watching at Mfangano Island Camp can also be arranged.
Day 6: Masai Mara to Nairobi

After lunch transfer to the airstrip to catch the scheduled flight departing at 4 p.m. for Nairobi, arriving at Wilson Airport at 5 p.m. where you will be met with a tour representative and then transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
