Accommodation

Masai Mara Sopa Lodge

Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, the Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature. The lodge has 50 guest cottages divided into two wings to either side of the main public areas. Each of these houses has two spacious guest rooms with queen and king size beds, mosquito nets, electronic safes, dressing tables, en-suite bathrooms, and sheltered verandas that all have views over the gardens and the game reserve beyond.

  • Accommodation level: Mid-range

Mara Serena Lodge

Located at the very center of the famous "Mara Triangle" in the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge is the ultimate safari destination. Set high on a bush-cloaked hill with long views over the savannah and down to the winding coils of the hippo-filled Mara River, it stands center-stage to one of Africa's most dramatic wildlife arenas, providing guests with a ringside seat to the "greatest wildlife show on earth", the legendary migration of the wildebeest. Styled to echo the circular motif of a traditional Maasai manyatta, the Masai Mara Safari Lodge blends international sophistication with raw African beauty, while featuring twin rows of individual rooms, each with its own view of the famous Mara River.

The central bar and dining areas enjoy spectacular views, as does the rock-surround swimming pool. Each uniquely-presented room is accommodated in its own stand-alone modular unit, with uninterrupted views, private balcony, and a spacious seating area. All rooms are non-smoking. Among facilities, the lodge has a central dining room, an internal and external bar, a swimming pool and sundeck, a gift shop, a business center, a television with satellite programming in communal areas only, free Wi-Fi, a conference center, board games, and a library of Africana books. Some services feature babysitting, complete wedding planning service, 24-hour on-call medical services, and special dietary needs catered for with advance notification. Activities include two daily game drives in custom-built traditional safari vehicles, ‘sundowners' in the bush, breakfast by the hippo pool, lunch in the wilderness, dinner in the bush, balloon safaris, or relaxation and reinvigoration in the panoramic new Maisha Safari Spa and Gym.

Ashnil Mara Luxury Tented Camp

Ashnil Mara Camp, with 50 luxury tents, is located in the Masai Mara National Reserve and close to the Mara River, famous for the wildebeest migration. This luxury Masai Mara camp is arguably in one of the very best positions in the Masai Mara for game viewing and also provides the perfect setting to sit and relax at the end of a exciting day of game drives. The Ashnil Mara Camp is a four to five hour drive from Nairobi.

Sarova Mara Tented Camp

The rolling plains around the camp teem with wildebeest, gazelles, and zebras during the migration months, and the camp is situated right in the center of their migration path. By virtue of its location and layout, the camp offers an unparalleled plethora of activities and experiences from luxury tented living to bird-watching, mini golf, sport fishing, and a unique insight into the Maasai culture at the adjoining Maasai village.
