These two full days of adventure will take you to the Great Rift Valley, visiting Mount Suswa and Lake Naivasha. This safari combines perfect destinations for exploring nature that do not involve a lot of traveling. Mount Suswa is in a remote area, making it more fun for an adventure where you will spend the day for hiking and game viewing activities. At Lake Naivasha, you can spend the day on lake excursion to watch birds, hippos, giraffes, antelopes, and monkeys among other wildlife. It’s a great place for family weekend getaways, group day trips, team buildings, and leisure.

Day 1: Nairobi - Mount Suswa
You will be picked by Kenya Tour Budget Safari's driver from your hotel or airport. Then, drive from Nairobi through the beautiful Rift Valley escapements and have a brief stopover at the View Point for a scenic view of the Great Rift Valley. Mount Suswa is on a double volcanic crater and is one of Kenya’s least known mountains. It is famous for its caves exploration and the wonderful views; Kenya Tour Budget Safari advises that you wear comfortable hiking shoes and have water for hiking.
At Mount Suswa, you will spend the morning hiking up the mountain and exploring the hidden caves, which will take half a day or longer depending on the pace. The mountain has double crater which you can hike up both craters or choose either of them. At the conservancy, you will have a chance to spot the baboons, spotted hyenas, lions, leopards, and wild cats. After that, you will descend at your own relaxed pace with a brief stop for a picnic lunch. Then, you will continue with the drive to Naivasha town for dinner and overnight stay at the Taphe Resort.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha - Nairobi
For this day, you will be driven to Lake Naivasha in the morning after taking breakfast. Here, you can enjoy boat riding from the Lake to Crescent island (optional). You will be able to see hippos, flamingoes, buffaloes, waterbuck, and many birds including eagles. Take lunch at a hotel. If time allows, you can proceed to Lake Oloiden. Later in the afternoon, start the journey back to Nairobi. You will arrive in the evening. You shall be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel.
This safari will take you to explore Mount Suswa and Lake Naivasha in Kenya. Mount Suswa is located is in the Great Rift Valley between Nairobi and Narok and approximately three hours 40 minutes' ride from Nairobi. By road, Mount Suswa is 123.7 kilometers from Nairobi by using the Kmandura-Mai Mahiu-Narok road. Its dormant volcanic mountain is said to have erupted hundreds of years ago with double craters. The dried up lava flows of the eruption formed great caves in the mountain. From the craters, you will a have a wonderful view of the Great Rift Valley and beautiful landscapes as well as Mount Kilimanjaro.
It is a less popular mountain in Kenya, completely remote, untouched hidden gem mind-blowing destination. It is a perfect destination for guests who do not like populated destination and exploration lovers. Activities at the mountain are game viewing, hiking, camping, and cave exploration. The Mount Suswa conservancy is home for the baboons, spotted hyenas, lions, leopards, and wild cats among others.
You will be served daily meals on this safari. The food will be delicious and ranges from simple to gourmet. You can expect lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and wonderful homemade soups. Chicken, lamb, beef, or pork is usually served at lunch and dinner as well as fish and vegetarian dishes.
Breakfast is buffet with lots of tropical fruits, hot and cold cereals, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, bread and pastries, and eggs to order. Lunch can be either buffet or served at the table and always starts with soup. Dinner is usually a four or five-course meal.
Birdwatching is available as an optional activity you can enjoy during the safari.
