The safari will take place in Kenya.
Maasai Mara National Reserve
The reserve's first name honors the Maasai people while the second word Mara, also a Maasai name, meaning spotted pays homage to how they describe the area when they look at it from afar. The shadows from the clouds and the circles of trees, scrubs, and savanna that they saw gave the landscape a speckled appearance, not forgetting this is also where one of the world's eight wonders happens "the wildbeast migration" from July to September.
Maasai Mara is one of Africa's most famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas, world-renowned for its exceptional populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and African bush elephants. It also hosts the great migration, which secures it as one of the world's natural wonders. Maasai mara hosts more than four hundred and seventy species of birds many of which are migrants with almost 60 species being raptors. Birds that call this area home are vultures, marabou storks, secretary birds, hornbills, crowned cranes, ostriches, etc.
Lake Nakuru National Park
It is a rhino sanctuary hosting both southern white and black rhinos. The lake is famous for millions of colons of flamingos that paint the Lake Pink in color as well as over 400 different species of birds and much small game including Rothschild giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, buffalos, lions, leopards, and other antelopes. It is known for its thousands, sometimes millions of flamingos nesting along the shores. The surface of the shallow lake is often hardly recognizable due to the continually shifting mass of pink.
The number of flamingos on the lake varies with water and food conditions and the best vantage point is from Baboon Cliff. Also of interest is an area of 188 kilometers around the lake fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes, black rhinos, and white rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park has recently been enlarged partly to provide a sanctuary for the black rhino one of the big attractions is the big five.
Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha is famous for its strong populations of hippos, waterbucks, and flamingos. There are over 1,500 hippos in the area, and you are almost guaranteed to see one. The lake is a birder's paradise as it is home to over 400 bird species.
