Adventurous Jungle Safari in Ecuador

You will be accommodated at Hostería Orchids Paradise located in the Archidona Canton, province of Napo, near Tena, just three hours away from the city of Quito. The facilities combine peace, comfort, and excellent attention to the environment, ecological conservation, and biodiversity of the Amazon rain forest.

Hostería Orchids Paradise is located at 650 meters above sea level, with facilities spread over 22 hectares on the banks of the headwaters of the Misahualli River. Its construction with local materials is in complete harmony with the jungle environment, while providing all amenities to make your stay an unforgettable experience amidst the Amazonian Ecuador.

All rooms are equipped with electricity, hot water, and fans. There are no TVs or phones, since its design and surroundings encourage relaxation. The rustic style of the buildings and use of local materials ensure integration with nature, while making an invitation to explore the surrounding flora and fauna.

An ecological pool features on an area of ​​316 square meters, with three different levels of depth that help both children and adults enjoy a refreshing moment surrounded by lush trees and the majestic scenery of the mountains of the Macaws.

Ecological trails allow you to explore the natural richness of the Ecuadorian Amazon. On the way you can observe the endemic flora of the area, ornamental plants, fruit trees, and admire the lush wildlife, a great diversity of birds and some species of monkeys in their natural habitat.


You will begin with the rafting. You can have more adrenaline by choosing the Class III section of the beautiful Jatun Yacu River, or an easier and softer Class II section to enjoy the wonderful view of the Napo River. No matter which one you choose, you'll be surrounded by the exuberant nature of the impressive Amazonian rain forest.

After an exciting half-day of rafting, comes a delicious lunch. Then prepare yourself to be surprised by the jungle's wildlife. You will begin your tour with a guided visit to a water safari where younger and older participants alike can join. Your first stop will be to visit a beautiful lagoon where you can see birds, monkeys, and other species, from a non-motorized canoe.

Then, you'll take a short walk (five minutes) to watch the giant Ceibo from the Pununo community. This legendary tree will surprise you with its energy and size.

To finalize, you will be taken to see how chocolate is made in the Ecuadorian Amazonia; you will go to a cacao plantation from a local community. You'll be able to distinguish the fruit and its various colors. Afterward, you will help to prepare a delicious chocolate dessert. You will peal and toast the cocoa seeds to taste the ancestral dish.
