Join your hosts Karumuna Safaris at Uganda and enjoy trekking in the jungle, search for big game on the savanna, spot hippos by the shores, climb mountains, do chimps and gorilla trekking, discover the culture, or relax in the breathtaking nature. This safari will take you to see mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, lions, elephants, and an abundance of birds, all in the wild and in several national parks.
This discover Uganda safari will take place particularly in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will also stay at the Red Chilli Rest Camp, Budongo Eco Lodge, Boma Hotel, Apoka Hostel Bandas, Hotel Kontiki Hoima, Primate Lodge, Pumba Safari Cottages, Gorilla Mist Camp, Bushara Island Camp, Rwakobo Rock, and the Cassia Lodge.
The Amuka Lodge is located in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will spend the first night here. Amuka Lodge brings you breathtaking encounters with Uganda’s only wild rhinoceros as well a wide array of birds and wildlife. The accommodations afford all the luxury not expected in the African wilderness, with unfenced chalets that make the most of the bush environment.
Sixteen self-contained chalets are offered at Apoka Rest Camp which is a hostel consisting of 14 bandas each having two beds. The bandas are actually not self-contained. With regard to visitors who choose camping, this park has two camping grounds. You have to carry your own tent along with other camping gear.
The Boma Hotel is Entebbe’s original and most exclusive hotel, set in tropical gardens in a leafy suburb, a few minutes’ drive from the airport. The rooms combine the modern comforts one expects today with the charm and character of the original 1940’s home.
Situated in the heart of Budongo Forest Reserve, part of Murchison Falls National Park, Budongo Eco Lodge provides excellent and pocket friendly accommodation in the midst of one of the largest and most beautiful rainforest locations in Uganda whose incredible biodiversity includes nine different species of primates, 360 species of birds, over 290 different types of butterflies, and some of the oldest trees in Uganda. You will spend one night at the lodge.
Bushara Island Camp is a sustainable eco-tourism resort focusing on raising awareness and promoting protection of the environment. The camp evolved in response to the needs of the people of Lake Bunyonyi. Here you will spend two nights during the ninth and tenth day.
The Cassia Lodge is located in the Buziga Hill, one of the highest hills of Kampala, close to Lake Victoria. The environment is cool with few mosquitoes and an astonishing view of the lake as well as the city.
The lodge offers excellent international cuisine in a serene environment. It has an indoor section with air-conditioning and a terrace section. Adjacent to the restaurant is the bar with a separate panoramic balcony. You will spend your last night at the lodge.
Gorilla Mist Camp is a camp located in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on the southwestern wing of Ruhija trekking area where the gorilla families Oruzogo, Bitukura, and Kyaguliro are found. With options ranging from most hospitable accommodation to perfect services from the finest staff, Gorilla Mist gives all options to create your safari wonderful. The camp will be your home on the eight night.
Stay at the KonTiki Hotel and enjoy the calm and cool environment where nature is in abundance. The hotel is situated on the approach to Hoima town, along Kampala Road, just next to Habitat Area. Hotel KonTiki is suitable for all travelers because of its comfortable surroundings, and it offers a relaxing environment for any activity. You will spend one night in this hotel on the fourth day.
The Primate Lodge in Kibale is an exclusive eco-lodge situated in the heart of Kibale Forest National Park. It is surrounded by a lush tropical forest that is home to 13 different species of primates, including the chimpanzees. You will spend one night during the fifth day.
The Pumba Safari Cottages are located in Kyambura overlooking Queen Elizabeth National Park as they are along the rim of the western rift valley in Uganda. With a view over a rich animal kingdom, you might spot elephants coming to enjoy the waterhole in view from the verandas of the cottages. At Pumba Safari Cottages, you will be offered cozy accommodation, welcoming staff, and stunning views. You will stay here for two nights during the sixth and seventh day.
Red Chilli is superbly located to explore Murchison. The camp is at Paraa on the southern bank of the River Nile in the heart of the park. It is just 500 meters from the Paraa ferry, where all vehicles cross the Nile for game drives around the Nile Delta, and from where boats can be hired for game viewing and sport fishing on the Nile, either up to the base of the fall, or down to the Nile delta at Lake Albert. You will spend one night during the second day.
Rwakobo Rock is a peaceful and secluded retreat where you can breathe in the essence of wild Uganda. The eight comfortable and spacious cottages are dotted around the hill, all very private and offering great sunset views.
The main dining area overlooks an expanse of rock that adjoins the park. Set in the pristine Ankole ranch lands surrounding Lake Mburo National Park, whether you want to sit back, sip on an ice-cold drink in a hammock, or head out into Lake Mburo National Park for a day of exciting exploration, there is something for everyone there. You will spend two nights on the eleventh and twelve day.
This day you will meet your safari guide and leave Kampala in the morning for your full Uganda safari. The target for the day is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will arrive for lunch in the sanctuary before having a walk to see the rhinos up-close. You will spend the night at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
After breakfast, you will set off towards Kitgum. You have a long day in the car ahead of you and can enjoy the Ugandan landscape passing by the windows. You will spend the night at Kitgum.
After breakfast, you make the last part of the journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. This park is known as one of the last untouched wildernesses in Africa. You will reach the park in time for a game drive and then get to the lodge for lunch.
After some relaxation, you will head out for an evening game-drive and have the chance of seeing for example giraffes, zebras, elephants, lions, and leopards. You will spend the night at Apoka Hostel Bandas.
Get up early to enjoy a morning game-drive in the area of the Kanangorok Hot Springs. If you are lucky you can see ostriches in this area. After lunch it is time for a cultural experience visiting a Karamojong village. See how the locals live and learn about their culture. You will spend the night at Apoka Hostel Bandas.
This will be an interesting day in the car as you are traveling through the remotest parts of Uganda, see villages and nature passing by the window. Spend the night in Gulu Uganda's second biggest town and spend the night at Boma Hotel.
After breakfast, you will set off for the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Be there around lunch time. When you have finished your lunch, it is time to experience the top of the falls. It is an amazing feeling to stand their enjoying the view and hearing the water roar. Have a relaxed evening at the lodge. You will spend the night at the Red Chilli Rest Camp.
Get up early in the morning to meet the animals of the savanna. During this morning game-drive you can see giraffes, elephants, lions, and more. In the afternoon it is time for a boat cruise on the mighty Nile spotting for example hippos, crocodiles, and birds on the shores. Spend the night in Budongo Forest (a part of Murchison Falls) to get close to the jungle. You will spend the night at the Budongo Eco Lodge.
Have a relaxed breakfast and soak in the surroundings. After breakfast, your guides will take you to the town of Hoima. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel. You will spend the night at Hotel Kontiki Hoima.
Be prepared for a long day in the car made easier by making a stop in a village to stretch your legs, taking a look at a tea plantation, and studying the Ugandan countryside passing by the window. You will spend the night at the Primate Lodge.
Be woken up by the sounds of the jungle and get ready for your chimps trekking experience. Your guide will take you to the starting point and you will set off in to the beautiful jungle to see the chimpanzees. After the chimps trekking your guide will meet you and take you to the lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will spend the night at the Pumba Safari Cottages.
Wake up early in the morning for a game drive in the Kasenyi part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you have the chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of birds, and more. After lunch your guide takes you to the afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. This two-hour boat ride is a great highlight were you for example can look for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and warthogs along the shores of the channel. You will spend the night at the Pumba Safari Cottages.
Head off to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning. The drive there goes along an adventurous road and you have the chance of seeing baboons and elephants along the way. In Ishasha you find topis, buffaloes, and search for the tree-climbing lions.
The lions in this area are famous for climbing up great fig trees to take a rest. After finishing your game-drive the journey goes on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy the changing landscape as the car slowly climbs up towards the misty mountains of the gorillas. You will spend the night at the Gorilla Mist Camp.
You have now reached a highlight of this Full Uganda Safari, the gorilla trekking day. Your guide will take you to the starting point of the gorilla trekking in the morning and you set of for your adventure. The trek takes you through the jungle up to the point where the gorillas are and you get to spent one hour with them. When you are back from the gorilla trekking your guide takes you to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. You will spend the night at the Bushara Island Camp.
Have a free day by Lake Bunyoyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands or take a swim. The lake is free of hippos, crocodiles, and bilharzia, you can go for a hike, or just relax with a book. You will spend the night at Bushara Island Camp.
After breakfast you start off with your guide towards Lake Mburo National Park. A landscape of rolling green hills will pass by the windows before you reach the town of Mbarara for lunch and then continue to the lodge in Lake Mburo National Park. You will spend the night at Rwakobo Rock.
Start the day early with a safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park. Get the experience of being one with nature as you see the animals close by during the walk. Have breakfast at the lodge and relax a bit before lunch. After lunch in the afternoon it is time for your game drive in the park, here you can see impalas and zebras. Get back to the lodge to enjoy your last evening in Uganda's national parks on this Discover Uganda Safari. You will spend the night at Rwakobo Rock.
Have a relaxed breakfast and then start the journey to Kampala. Make a stop along the way for lunch at the Equator and take the chance to stand with one foot on either side on the southern and northern hemisphere. After the last part of the drive to Kampala your guide will take you to the hotel for a relaxed afternoon. You will spend the night at Cassia Lodge.
Go for a city tour of Kampala before heading to Entebbe for your flight. The city tour can be adapted to your interests of crafts shopping, cultural sights, or community tourism. The length of the city tour depends on your flight time and your guide will transfer you to Entebbe in time for check-in.
During this safari you will visit several national parks, villages, and rivers. You will arrive to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and then visit Kidepo Valley National Park, the Karamojong Village, the Murchison Falls National Park, visit the towns of Hoima and Gulu, the Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Kibale Forest National Park, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, and explore the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will also enjoy the Lake Bunyonyi where you can explore the islands and take a swim and visit the Lake Mburo National Park. You will visit the home of the primates in the whole world commonly found in Kibale Forest National Park.
In Lake Mburo National Park, you will have a walk in the park with an experienced armed guide and you will have lots of fun in this lonely wild land.

Barbecues can be arranged in advance. Most eating places serve a buffet so you can choose according to your preference. Drinks include the fizzy drinks and fresh juices such as passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and watermelon.
During your free time, you can enjoy cultural dances, community visits, city tours, and historical sites visits. Swimming can be arranged in advance by locating hotels fitted with modern swimming pools. Karumuna Safaris can arrange swimming in the five or four star hotels.
