"Only positives here: we had a superb time at Karen Blixen camp. The North Conservancy is a truly amazing conservation project, so successful that it is probably more replete with animals now than the national park (which you can also visit and should!). It is a great feeling just to be contributing to that. The service was great. The staff all know your names and pay great attention to making you feel special and cared for. There are lots of "surprises" which I should not detail here, which we thoroughly enjoyed, unforgettable evenings in the wilderness. The guides were first rate; we used two guides (mainly David) who managed to find even Leopard, and countless Lions, a serval, a cheetah, as well as "all the other stuff" that people tend eventually to see on safari. The rooms are luxury tents with electrics etc ("glamping"). It can be noisy at night time with the animals, and that may take getting used to for some compared to using a more hotel type accommodation, but we really enjoyed the more outdoor feel. There were lots of activities for our son to do, making beads, swimming and kiddy archery for example in addition to the wildlife spotting. Food was highly personalized - each group gets a dedicated waiter who gets to know their preferences.Overall amazing; if you can go, don't miss it! Only comment is that the pool looks like it could use a better filter system."

"It was fifth time we stayed in the camp. Only a pity we had to change place because of refurbishment. As always the atmosphere is great. Strongly influenced by Danish "hygge". Can be other camps have a bit more luxury ambience but this is fully compensated by great staff who offer good and friendly service."

"Great location on the Mara River with a seemingly permanent herd of hippos on the opposite bank - picteresque with permant tent luxury accommodation with outside bathrooms Food and service was top class. The daily safaris were the highlight - this is the place to see animals - a herd of 30+ giraffe crossing the river, 200+ zebras as well as lions and elephants up close - fantastic - could not be faulted in any way"

"Very kind welcome to the camp by all staff who made us feel at home. Luxurious and clean tent with a view to the Mara River and the wild animals. We enjoyed the high quality of all meals. Well organized guided safari tours with excellent guide who showed us lions, cheetahs, elephants, and many more animals at close sight. I give a high recommendation for Karen Blixen Camp."

"The staff at Karen Blixen Camp made us feel welcomed and safe from the moment we arrived. We were lucky enough to have Dave, our driver / guide, to ourselves for our whole stay, making our safari experience very personalized. Special moments at the camp include a picnic lunch in the bush, a surprise breakfast by the lake, a candlelit dinner away from the other diners on one night and evening hot chocolate in front of the fire pit. Lillian was particularly outstanding, as on one day between our morning and evening safaris, she came to our tent, calling out our names, to let us know that a black rhino was in the area if we wanted to go and find it, which we thought was above and beyond our expectations. Better still - we found it! During the safaris, the camp drivers split up so you don't see many other vehicles when outside the main reserve, but if someone finds something of particular interest, they will radio the other members of the camp, so you don't miss out on anything. We have so many special memories from this camp and were thoroughly looked after from start to finish. A perfect place to experience safari for the first time, without giving up too many home comforts."

"We ended our safari with three nights at Karen Blixen Camp. The location of this camp on a small rise above the Mara River means there is game viewing every time you look up. In addition to the resident herd of hippos in the water directly across from the dining area many other animals came to drink - elephants, a lion, impalas, cape buffalo, baboons. Our tent was spacious and beyond comfortable. Our driver / guide for our game drives was Daniel. He was excellent at finding game and anticipating where animals would go, positioning our truck perfectly for viewing the great migration - a large herd of wildebeest crossing the river. The rest of the staff was also excellent. Menus were limited but every dish was very good. The bar area was particularly charming with the natural stone fireplace. There is a nicely stocked gift shop. Our only complaint about this camp is the game drive trucks. They don't have a pop top, so you don't have the option of standing to take photos. Also they don't provide binoculars for guests. Fortunately we brought a pair of our own. "
