Set on raised individual private wooden decks with each tent overlooking their own piece of the Kafue River, the luxury tented accommodations are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, indoor showers, and an open-air shower or bath. The tent's additional thatched roof provides extra shade.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Arrive by your arranged road transfers from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN).

Day 2-5: Customize your itinerary

Be active when you want to be. With the assistance of the experienced guides, you can schedule your activities to suit you. Explore the magnificent Kafue river on a relaxing boat cruise, canoe trail or in a rubberduck for the more adventurous. Wonder at the wildlife on an early morning and afternoon game drive. The large granite boulders around the lodge add a wonderful feature to the safari nature walks.

Have time to relax. The honeymoon chalet has a private deck overlooking the river and a large outside bath. Here, you can unwind, listen to the sounds of the African bush, and feel first hand the pulse of Africa. Take a leisurely walk to the natural pools amongst the rapids or enjoy a day on an island with your book and a delicious picnic.

Enjoy the moment. Besides that, you can have breakfast on an island, sundowner on top of a large rock or a private lantern lit dinner at the rapids.

Day 6: Departure

Departure by arranged road transfer to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN).

Food

Kaingu has built an enviable reputation for food. Fresh and inventive menus that are updated with each new year as well as seasonal changes to ensure that your taste senses are also looked after. The head chefs, Wina and Lizzy, are vastly experienced, and Kaingu sources produce that includes as many organic ingredients as possible as well as grass-fed Zambian beef and sustainable wild venison. The meals generally consist of early continental breakfasts before game drives and then a buffet lunch with interesting salads and various dish choices. Dinners feature three-course meals.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Kaingu Safari Lodge's representatives will pick you up from the airport. The transfer duration from the outskirts of Lusaka is 4.5 hours, from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN), due to traffic, is 5.5 hours. Park entrance gates close at 18:00, therefore, a departure from Lusaka should not be later than 12:00.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
