Joshua’s Amazon Expeditions will lead you on a guided challenge trip into the Amazon. This trip is recommended for people interested in doing a long trekking in the jungle and spending more time camping. In this tour, you will surely witness different plants and animals that are living around the Amazon. An exciting adventure awaits you so book now!
For this tour, you will be provided with five nights’ accommodation. On the first two nights, you will stay in Juma Floating Lodge. On the next three nights, you will experience a hammock camping. During the time in the forest, each member of the group takes along his hammock and mosquito net and a light plastic roll to protect himself in case of rain.
The tour starts at 8.00 a.m. when you are taken by car from the hotel to the Ceasa Port on the right bank of the Negro River about 20 kilometers from Manaus. From there a speedboat takes you to the meeting of the waters (the point where the Negro River and the Solimões River meet).
On the other side of the river, you will arrive at the village of Careiro. From there, a car or van will take you to the Paraná do Mamori River. Another one-hour trip by speedboat will take you to the lodge. Arrive at around 11:30 a.m. Lunch is served at 12:30 p.m. and the afternoon activity starts at 2:30 p.m.
The activity is a canoe trip to watch dolphins, birds, and the sunset at about 6:30 p.m. Dinner is served at 7:00 p.m. and then at about 8:30 p.m. caiman spotting activity. Everyone will leave the canoe and your guide will literally snatch a caiman out of the water and explains about the reptile which is then returned to its habitat.
At 5:30 a.m., a canoe awaits you to watch the sunrise and to get a close-up view of the forest waking up to a new day. From 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., a visit will be made to a local family house. You may participate in their typical day of living if you want.
The afternoon activity starts at 3:00 p.m. You will continue your canoe ride to the flooded forest and small channels. It is a great opportunity to see and learn more about the flora and fauna of the fantastic Amazon jungle.
At around 9:00 p.m., you will leave the lodge to stay overnight in the jungle where you will experience trekking. This is definitely the highlight of this trip.
You will experience trekking in the Amazon jungle and camp out for your overnight stay.
Your trekking adventure has finally come to an end. You will get back to Lodge for lunch and also for a chance to have a swim and shower before you get back to civilization. At 1:30 p.m., you will head back to Manaus arriving around 4:30 p.m.
On the second day of the tour, you will be able to visit the local people and participate in their day of living.
This safari tour will take place in the area of the Amazon jungle mainly on the Juma River. It is a tributary of the Rio Madeira and is located southeast of Manaus, Amazon. The characteristics contributed to the formation of a Rico flooded forests system with powerful and preserved flora and fauna. The region has consolidated itself as one of the most sought-after scripts of eco-tourism and adventure.
In this tour, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and mineral drinking water will be provided to you. The foods that will be served to you are fish, chicken, rice, vegetables, and local fruits. The food consumed is distributed to each person in the group and carried in the backpacks. It is mainly consisted of carbohydrates and proteins because carrying heavy food (weight) it is not recommended on such a long walk. The water consumed is taken from the creeks, the same consumed by the natives, but with a difference: A water purifier will be taken along to purify the water.
