Enjoy the best wildlife experience in Southern Africa! During this safari, you can choose to stay either in a dome tent or a lodge. For the tent, mattresses will be provided. The facilities include hot showers and toilets with power points at most sites.
You will be picked up at 05:00 from O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) or the nearby lodge / hotel. You will then travel through Mpumalanga, “the place where the sun rises”, a beautiful province with spectacular scenic and abundance of wildlife.
You will stop en-route for breakfast (at an additional cost) and continue via Belfast and Dullstroom to Lydenburg which means “the place of suffering”. Pioneer Voortrekkers fleeing malaria and the debilitating heat of lower lying areas in the early 1800s founded this town. After lunch, you will work your way to South Africa’s world-renowned Kruger National Park which offers a wildlife experience that ranks the best in Africa.
After entering Orpen gate, you will explore the park and wildlife on your way until you reach Satara Restcamp which is often referred as the “cat camp”. Large cats are frequently spotted in Muzadzeni area where a large and successful lion pride operates. There, you will check into your lodge or camp before enjoying a hearty dinner in the evening.
At 05:00, you will leave the camp as soon as the gates open and depart for Olifants Camp where you will enjoy breakfast. You will continue the safari to visit the Elephant Museum which houses the enormous tusks of the “Magnificent Seven”, the seven greatest elephants ever to roam in Kruger National Park.
You will stop for lunch (at an additional cost) and explore the afternoon wildlife of Kruger National Park on your way to your overnight destination which is situated in Sandveld region and often described as the botanical gardens of the Kruger National Park.
There, you will go on a night drive with rangers of the park and get the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that only come out at night. You will enjoy dinner before retiring to your suites or tents for some peaceful sleep before the next exciting day.
At 05:00, you will leave the camp as soon as the gates open and work your way to Pafuri gate. It is one of the most ecologically diverse areas of the park and known as the Northern “biome”. You will stop for breakfast in Musina. After that, you will continue the journey to Beitbridge border post where you will enter Zimbabwe.
You will stop for lunch (at an additional cost) near Masivingo. You will continue the journey to Norma Jeane's Lakeview Resort which is set in the granite hills and msasa woodlands overlooking Lake Mutirikwi where you will check into your camp or lodge and enjoy dinner together.
You will wake up at 06:00 to enjoy breakfast at 07:00. You will go on a guided walking tour of the Great Zimbabwe ruins. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in Africa, giving testimony to the lost civilization of the Shona. It also is the largest collection of ruins in Africa, south of the Sahara, and a testament to a culture which has great wealth and great architectural skills.
From there, your final stretch for the day will be Antelope Park. It is home to the world famous African Lion and Environmental Research Trust's lion rehabilitation program which is a multi-phase lion conservation initiative. There, you will enjoy lunch and check into your lodge or camp. After having lunch, you will get an opportunity to spot excellent wildlife and sunset on an afternoon boat cruise. By your return from the sunset cruise, you will enjoy a hearty dinner together.
You will wake up at 06:00 to be in time for breakfast at 07:00. After that, you will leave Antelope Park for Bulawayo to visit Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage on a guided tour. Chipangali means ”open friendly country”. It is the heaven for wild animals and has been featured in countless documentaries. It is now world-renowned for its pioneer work and is famed as one of Africa’s largest and most successful wildlife rehabilitation / release centers.
You will then make your way back to Bulawayo to get lunch en-route. After that, you will continue your journey to the “Place of Elephants”, Ivory Lodge. From the camp, “big game” of elephants, lion, leopards, and buffalo are seen regularly while they visit the waterhole. There, you will check into your lodge or camp before enjoying a nice dinner in the evening.
You will enjoy breakfast at 07:00 and leave Ivory Lodge at 08:00 for Victoria Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya (“The Smoke that Thunders”). It is a waterfall in Southern Africa on the Zambezi River at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls is known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world.
You will stop for an en-route lunch and then make the bookings for optional activities in the next day such as white river rafting, bungee jumping, big swing, elephant rides, walk with the lions, etc. After setting in at your camp or lodge, you will leave to explore the magnificent Victoria Falls. Later in the evening, you will enjoy dinner at a restaurant.
After having breakfast at 07:00, the day will be spent on your own leisure. The town of Victoria Falls originally became established as a trading post called Old Drift on the Zambian side of the river where they used to cross Zambezi River.
The lunar rainbow occurs in January until October. It occurs when the water level in Zambezi River is high enough to cause heavy spray to blend adequately with the moon rays. Later in the evening, you will enjoy a hearty dinner together.
You will wake up in the early morning to have breakfast at 08:00 and leave Victoria Falls at 09:00 for Kazangula Border Post to enter into Botswana. You will make your way to Kasane. After that, you will stop to enjoy lunch in Chobe and check into your lodge or camp.
At 15:00, you will go on a sunset boat cruise on Cuando River. Sunset is a good time to view wildlife as it is the time when the animals are most active around the river. The navigable Cuando River has the largest conservation of elephants in the world and makes it one of Africa’s top safari destinations. After an exciting sunset on the river under Botswana's sky, you will enjoy a dinner together in the evening.
You will be up at 05:00 to go on a morning game drive to Chobe National Park in open vehicles accompanied by park rangers at 06:00. Chobe National Park is known as “the land of the giants”. The best game viewing is in the early morning at the drinking holes when the wildlife is more active.
On your return around 09:00, you will have brunch. Then, you will go to Nata to have a lunch in the afternoon and check into your lodge or camp. After relaxing in the afternoon, you will meet in the restaurant for a nice dinner.
You will wake up at 06:00 to enjoy breakfast at 07:00. You will leave Nata lodge at 08:00 to Francistown, the second largest city in Botswana. You will arrive in Francistown in time to enjoy a lunch (at an additional cost).
From there, you will continue the journey to Palapye where you will spend the afternoon around the swimming pool and relax at your own leisure. You will check into your lodge or camp and spend the last night together under Botswana's sky with a hearty dinner.
You will wake up at 05:00 to leave Palapye for Martins Drift border post and go back to South Africa. You will then go to Mokopane and stop for brunch. Your final stretch will be after brunch to Johannesburg where you will arrive around 18:00 and say goodbyes at O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) or the nearby lodge.
During the safari, you will visit Elephant Museum in Kruger National Park, the Great Zimbabwe ruins, Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage, and Victoria Falls.
