Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

  • Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you'll be greeted by your safari guide who will facilitate your transfer to your accommodation in Entebbe.
  • This day is primarily dedicated to relaxation and acclimatization after your journey. You'll have time to settle in, unwind, and perhaps explore the surroundings of Entebbe.
  • In the evening, you'll gather for a welcome dinner where you'll meet your fellow travelers and receive a briefing about the safari itinerary, safety precautions, and what to expect in the coming days.

Day 2: Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park

  • After breakfast at the lodge, you'll depart for Kibale Forest National Park, a scenic drive of approximately 5-6 hours.
  • Upon arrival, you'll check-in at your lodge situated near the park, offering convenient access to the forest.
  • The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the forest surroundings.
  • Dinner will be served at the lodge, followed by an overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

  • An early start awaits you as you fuel up with breakfast before heading into Kibale Forest for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience.
  • Accompanied by experienced guides, you'll embark on a guided forest walk in search of chimpanzee troops.
  • Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to observe other primates and diverse bird species.
  • A picnic lunch will be served amidst the lush greenery of the forest.
  • Afternoon activities may include additional nature walks, birdwatching, or simply enjoying the serene atmosphere.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park (Ishasha Sector)

  • After breakfast, you'll set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a particular focus on the Ishasha Sector known for its population of tree-climbing lions.
  • Upon arrival, you'll check-in at your lodge in Ishasha and enjoy lunch before embarking on a game drive in search of the unique lions.
  • The Ishasha Sector is also home to other wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, and various antelope species, providing ample opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge in Queen Elizabeth NP.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park (Mweya Sector)

  • Rise early for a morning game drive in the Mweya Sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, renowned for its diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, and Uganda kob.
  • After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast.
  • Later in the morning, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. The boat cruise offers unparalleled opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing, including hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

  • After an early breakfast, you'll proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers, who will provide guidance and allocate gorilla families to trek.
  • Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you'll set off into the dense forest in search of the gorillas.
  • Upon encountering a gorilla family, you'll spend a magical hour observing and photographing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
  • A picnic lunch will be provided in the forest.

Day 8: Departure

  • After breakfast at the lodge, you'll embark on the journey back to Entebbe, a drive of approximately 8-9 hours.

  • Upon arrival in Entebbe, you'll be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure, concluding your incredible week-long Uganda safari adventure.
