During the safari, you will either stay at the Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, Ol Moran Tented Camp, or Miti Mingi Eco Tented Camp.
Mara Serena Safari Lodge
Mara Serena Safari Lodge represents the luxury accommodation option. It is located within the famous Mara Triangle of the Masai Mara National Reserve, which lies 320 kilometers from Nairobi.
Styled to echo the circular motif of a traditional Masai manyatta, the lodge blends international sophistication with raw African beauty. It features twin rows of individual rooms, each with its own view of the famous Mara River.
Accommodation features Masai-inspired design motifs, king-size or twin beds, lavish all-encompassing mosquito-curtaining, marble bathrooms, writing or vanity unit, and panoramic area.
The central bar and dining areas enjoy spectacular views, as does the rock-surround the swimming pool. Each uniquely-presented room is accommodated in its own stand-alone modular unit, with uninterrupted views, private balcony, and spacious seating area.
Activities include breakfast by the hippo pool, lunch in the wilderness, dinner and drinks in the bush, balloon safaris or relaxation in the panoramic spa and gym.
Mara Sopa Lodge
The lodge represents the mid-range accommodation option. Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, Masai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Masai Mara reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature.
All the buildings follow the design of traditional African round houses with conical roofs. They stretch along the line of the hills, with the impressively large public area buildings and swimming pool at their center.
Facilities include babysitting, board games, hair dryer, swimming pool, laundry, outdoor dining, special diets, conferences, gift shop, bird watching, wedding, honeymoon suite, turndown service, sundowners, and traditional dances.
The lodge has guest cottages divided into two wings to either side of the main public areas. Each of these houses has two spacious guest rooms with queen and king size beds, mosquito nets, electronic safes, dressing tables, en-suite bathrooms, and sheltered verandas with views over the gardens.
Six of the cottages contain two suites with larger bedrooms and bathrooms, and both indoor and outdoor seating areas. In addition, the honeymoon suite has an extremely large, luxuriously appointed bedroom with a king size bed. Its lavishly appointed bathroom contains both a shower and a sunken bath, and its sheltered veranda offers some of the most magnificent views available over the African landscapes.
The lounge is a large, comfortably furnished circular area, with a massive central fireplace. Its chimney soars twenty meters up to the top of the thatched conical roof. The walls and their murals are painted with a pleasant fusion of earthen colours to create an extremely warm ambience. The room has a well appointed bar set to one side.
Two doors access the sheltered outdoor veranda with its views over the swimming pool, the gardens, and the game reserve beyond. This is linked to the outdoor dining room, patio by a bridge. It is also here that they provide complimentary afternoon tea or coffee, together with sandwiches and cakes, before your last game drive of the day.
Miti Mingi Eco Tented Camp
The camp represents the budget accommodation option. It is situated within the Masai Mara ecosystem and on the banks of the Oloolaimutia River, which is a watering point for most wild animals, especially elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes.
The camp is small and exclusive, comprising 25 tents. The tents are furnished with the understated required by the modern traveler. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural wood, wrought iron, and crisp cottons, each tent has been meticulously planned to maximize comfort.
All tents have the following facilities: four poster beds and mosquito nets, en-suite with shower, toilets, and hot and cold running water.
The lawn has a natural shed that provides natural fresh air. It has comfortable, natural wooden benches for discussions, reading, eating, and drinking.
You can also take a walk around the tends. Under the trees, there is a comfortable, natural African grass that can also offer a resting ground with very oxygenated air.
There is plenty of food and drinks at the camp. Cooks are experienced in all kinds of food, including African dishes.
