Have you ever seen dolphins in the wild? No? Then join Isla Hayahay Beach Resort and go dolphin watching! Hiking and bird watching are also included in this tour and will be held at Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape, a protected landscape area of forested limestone hills, grasslands, and natural springs. Experience the tranquility on the friendliest island of the Visayas.
You will be accommodated and provided a room at Isla Hayahay Beach Resort & Restaurant. Isla Hayahay Beach Resort & Restaurant has 11 rooms in five different categories. From a Native Cottage to a Junior Suite.
The dolphin watching tour will be a road/boat trip to Balicasag Island. You will go by car to Panglao where you will board a bangka (local outrigger boat) and set sail to Balicasag Isand. Your captain and crew know exactly where so search for the dolphins while they are on their daily trip to their feeding ground. With some luck your boat will be surrounded by playful dolphins, jumping out of the water to chase the fish. It is great to see how dolphins hunt in pacts, where one pact chases the fish and the other is patiently waiting for the fish t practically swim into their mouth.
This dolphin watching tour is a wonderful experience for young and old.
The dolphin watching tour starts at Isla Hayahay Beach Resort & Restaurant already at 4 a.m. Because the kitchen is still closed at this time of the day they will provide your breakfast on Balicasag Island. You will be back in the resort around lunch-time, giving you the opportunity to relax after lunch.
The Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape is an important hiking and bird watching area being home to over 120 bird species, many of which are endemic to the Philippines. You will follow a hiking trail with a professional guide from the park which leads you along the most interesting points of the park. Your guide will try to find you some of the animals who live in the forest, its nature though there is no guarantee that you see everything.
Isla Hayahay Beach Resort & Restaurant is situated on Pangangan Island, Calape away from the busy touristic places, so you have time to relax and enjoy the silence.
Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape is the largest remaining tract of natural forest in Bohol and one of the Philippines’ top hiking and bird watching sites.
The park has more than 30 kilometers of marked trails for wildlife observation, over 100 caves, a camping area and a swimming pool. At the summit of Bilar Peak, an observation tower has been constructed providing panoramic views of the park and surrounding countryside, including the nearby island of Panglao and even Cebu. Near the park’s entrance is a tunnel that leads to Magsaysay Park, a cleared area situated next to a ranger station and the Logarita spring.
From Manilla you will fly to Tagbilaran, the Capital of Bohol. From Tagbilaran Airport (TAG), it is a 1 to 4-hour drive to the resort depending on the kind of transport you choose.
