You will be accommodated at hotels, Victoria Fall Safari Lodge, a campsite in Hwange National Park, Nesbitt Castle Hotel, Camp Amalinda, and a camp near Great Zimbabwe National Monument.
Today, you will get private transfers from the airport to Victoria Falls. Then, you will have a sunset cruise on Zambezi. You will stay overnight at Victoria Falls Safari lodge on bed and breakfast standard room.
At 08:30 you will be picked up for the Grand Tour of Victoria Falls. This is a tour that will last for two hours with one of the qualified guides who will give a brief history of the Victoria Falls at the entrance and walk you through the rainforest explaining history about the ancient explorers and discoveries, detailing the flora and fauna, birds, wildlife, and other points of interest. The guide will also assist you with photographs whilst visiting this most spectacular curtain of an amazing waterfall. Raincoats are provided when needed. You are also given the opportunity to shop at the curio market for souvenirs and gifts. After shopping at the market, you are transferred back to the hotel to relax at leisure.
You will be transferred from the hotel to a typical cultural tour at Monde village which is 15 kilometers away from town center. Kwa Mpisi, a name derived from the hyena family. The village tour is an experience of a lifetime, the day in day out life practices of pure African people known as Ubuntu. It is a first-hand grand opportunity seeing African women carry loads of heavy firewood on their heads without fear or tear for a neck break while the men milking from standing heifers using bare hands and fill up to a 10-liter jug without connecting any kind of modern machinery to seize tiredness. Can you handle it? Get to Kwa Mpisi and satisfy your imagination.
You will be picked up from the hotel to The Boma, a place for the hungry. It is famously known for its special variety of African and Western dishes to suit your choice, a well-arranged design and table set up to allow you a free dance and drumming up to maximum iTunes. The Boma offers a relaxed African evening with all traditional highlights from dishes to a fortune teller. Get your fortune told and taste a Mopani worm and be a graduate of your own certificate to show those left at home that you were really in the deep center of African culture.
On selection, there is a list of Zimbabwean dishes, fish, a variety of game meat and potjiekos (hunter's stew) as well as vegetarian meals. You are invited to sample such ethnic delicacies such as deep-fried kapenta and groundnuts? One will enjoy meals whilst being entertained by the local groups of imbube and traditional dancers. You will overnight at a hotel.
At 06:00 you will be picked up from the hotel for elephant back safari into lion’s territory. It is a chance to interact with the elephants and lions and then have a morning breakfast from the site. It is a life-changing experience indeed, imagine yourself on the top of an elephant sitting comfortably without fear while watching the game and listening to Indunas give information on flora and fauna.
At 11:45 you will be picked up in a quantum for the flight over the falls in a helicopter. It is famously known as the Flight of Angels named after David Livingstone’s imagination of how the falls could have been gazed by the angels when they flew across the waterfall curtain and the gorges. The Zambezi Flight of Angels duration is 12 to 13 minutes.
Viewing the falls from an aircraft is so spectacular and amazing all times of the day. You can be a champion after the ancient explorers, a life step ahead of them. David Livingstone saw the falls but never gazed at them like it could have been done by the angels on a swing over the falls but you can on a helicopter flight. The flight takes the clock and anti-clockwise circular turns on both directions giving a grand moment to view the chasm of the natural seventh wonder of the world - The Victoria Falls. After this activity, you will relax for the evening to take at your leisure / overnight at Victoria Fall Safari Lodge.
You will be picked up in a 4 x 4 vehicles and transferred to Hwange National Park. It is a three-hour drive to Zimbabwe's largest and best-known game reserve which is home to 400 bird species and 105 species of mammals including the Big Five. Once the royal hunting grounds of the Ndebele warrior-king Mzilikazi, Hwange was set aside as a national park in 1929. The park covers an area of over 14,600 square kilometers and is particularly known for its elephant populations and its concentration of lots of animal species and amazing bird life. You will overnight in the park campsite on full board. All lunch, dinner, and breakfast scheduled times are to be told by the guide.
In the morning, the day starts with a full day game drive in Hwange National Park. Located in the far west of the country, Hwange sits in a remarkable belt of Africa and extending into neighboring Botswana. The park contains over 100 mammal species including Africa's Big Five (leopard, lion, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) as well as elephants, giraffe, gemsbok, and the brown hyena. You will overnight in the campsite and the guide will provide you with the timings for all meals.
You will be transferred in a quantum minibus and drive south to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second city. This afternoon is at your leisure to explore the city. Bulawayo is a pleasant city with broad tree-lined avenues and wide open spaces. There is a fascinating National History Museum which recounts much of Zimbabwe's traditional and colonial past.
There is also the Old Town Hall nearby. It is a vibrant curio market that you can explore and try your bartering skills if you see a bargain. The curio markets also have a wide array of handicrafts and artwork that are on display made by skillful local craftsmen and woman. Overnight at Nesbitt Castle Hotel on full board.
At 08:00 after breakfast, you are going to be transferred to Matopos National Park. It is located in a short distance outside of Bulawayo. The wind-sculptured Matobo Hills are the site of numerous Bushman paintings and the area holds a special cultural and spiritual importance to the indigenous people.
In the morning, you will be picked up by knowledgeable guides that will take you to this beautiful national park to embark on a game drive and provided the conditions are right, you can view the game by foot as this reserve has the largest concentration of Black and White Rhino. Overnight at Camp Amalinda on full board, the guide will advise on meal times.
You will be leaving Matopos at 07:30 and drive east to a small town of Masvingo. The Great Zimbabwe National Monument is one of the most important archaeological sites in Southern Africa. Once a home to an indigenous population of some 10,000 people dating back to 1200 AD, the area holds special significance to the country which took its name. You will overnight in a camp nearby to have easy access and ample time to explore the ruins.
At 07:00 you will be picked up with packed breakfast for Antelope Park in Gweru, Zimbabwe's central plateau, en route to Harare. You will do a 120-minute mini mid-day game drive in the Antelope Park then drive to Harare for a flight to Namibia at 17:50. Antelope Park has zebras and giraffe, a lot more to enjoy and to take home memories. You will arrive in Harare around noon and do a sightseeing of rock balancing, an ancient suburb of Mbare before flying to Namibia where there are more nature scenes (trip extension) or flying back home.
This safari will take you to various places in Zimbabwe, including Victoria Falls, Monde village, Hwange National Park, Bulawayo, Matopos National Park, Great Zimbabwe National Monument in Masvingo, and Antelope Park in Gweru.
