Unique Safari in Peru

Intillama Jungle Lodge invite you to join them during this one of a kind safari that will lead you through the exotic Peruvian Amazon. During the safari you will get to observe the confluence of the Amazon rivers and the gray and pink dolphins swimming in their waters, visit the Bora native community to learn about their customs and exotic dances, camp in the jungle for a chance to see nocturnal animals, visit the residents of the Esperanza farmhouse where you will find out more about the extraction of cane juice, and many other activities.

On the first two nights and on the fifth night, you will be accommodated at a three-star hotel in Iquitos, while on the third night you will camp in the jungle. On the fourth night, you will stay at Intillama Jungle Lodge.


Day 1: Iquitos

  • Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel in the city of Iquitos
  • Check in at the hotel from 12:00 p.m.
  • Room location according to the requirement
  • Overnight

Day 2: Iquitos - Boat on Amazon River - Bora native community - Quistochocha National Tourist Park

  • Breakfast at the hotel in the city of Iquitos
  • Reception from the hotel by Intillama Jungle Lodge and transfer to the pier where you will board your boat
  • Navigation on the majestic Amazon River (natural wonder of the world); observation of the confluence of the Amazon rivers Itaya and Nanay, where you could appreciate the gray and / or pink dolphins
  • Visit the Bora native community to learn about their main activities, clothing, customs, and exotic dances. You will be part of their famous dance "La Anaconda".
  • Regional lunch in the floating restaurants
  • Visit Quistochocha National Tourist Park, surrounded by vegetation composed mainly of aguaje palms. The place is also used for important research, conservation, and reforestation work. It houses a museum, a zoo that welcomes various animals such as mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish, and a natural nursery.
  • Go back to he hotel in Iquitos. The tour ends at 5:30 p.m.
  • Overnight

Day 3: Iquitos - Tamshiyacu - Huaysi farmhouse - Camp in the jungle

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Reception from the hotel by Intillama Jungle Lodge and transfer to the pier where you will board your boat to go to the district of Tamshiyacu. You will take a brief tour of its boulevard, enjoying the view of the majestic Amazon River.
  • Motorboat trip down the Amazon River to a Huaysi farmhouse (Union of the Tahuayo River and Amazon). Enjoy and observe the gray and pink dolphins.
  • Reception at the hostel with welcome refreshments
  • Lunch at the hostel
  • You will prepare your equipment to direct you to build a camp inside the jungle
  • Condition your camp and prepare dinner. Rest and recognize the surroundings of the camp to then take a night walk during which you can see and hear the different species of nocturnal animals that are in the jungle. Among them are birds, rodents, insects, and others.
  • Upon return to the camp, you will rest for the activities of the following day

Day 4: Jungle walk - Esperanza farmhouse - Intillama Jungle Lodge

  • Very early in the morning, you will walk through the interior of the jungle to appreciate majestic trees, different birds, and other species
  • Breakfast
  • Return to the camp for lunch, then depart for Intillama Jungle Lodge
  • You will visit the residents of the Esperanza farmhouse and you will recognize their crafts and handicrafts
  • You will learn about the process of the sugar mill where cane juice is extracted, and those who wish can taste it. Afterwards, you will arrive at Intillama Jungle Lodge.
  • Dinner

Day 5: Intillama Jungle Lodge - Iquitos

  • Coffee and infusions
  • It is customary at the lodge for guests to plant a tree in a deforested area. They long for your return to see the growth of your tree.
  • Amazonian brunch
  • Upon your return to the city of Iquitos, you will visit the town of Huaysi to appreciate and collaborate with their crafts, admire the union of the Amazon and Tahuayo rivers, and appreciate the pink dolphins. If possible, you will also see the enigmatic plant called Victoria Regia.
  • Continue on your way to the city of Iquitos. Estimated arrival in the city is at 4:30 p.m. You will again check in at the hotel.

Day 6: Departure

  • Breakfast at the hotel in Iquitos
  • Transfer from the hotel to the airport according to the schedule established by the hotel
