Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru, a small (it varies from five to 30 square kilometers) shallow alkaline lake on the edge of the town of Nakuru lies about 160 kilometers north of Nairobi. The lake is world-famous as the location of the greatest bird spectacle on earth, myriads of fuschia pink flamingo whose numbers are legion, often more than a million maybe two. They feed on the abundant algae which thrives in the warm waters.

But flamingos are not the only avian attraction, also unforgettable are two fish eating birds, pelicans and cormorants, for despite the tepid and alkaline water a diminutive fish, tilapia grahami has flourished after being introduced in the early 1960's. The lake is also rich in other bird life. There are over 400 resident species on the lake and in the surrounding park. Thousands of both little grebes and white winged black terns are frequently seen as are stilts, avocets, ducks, and in the European winter, the migrant waders.

Lake Naivasha

Lake Naivasha is one of Kenya’s most stunning Rift Valley freshwater lakes. It is surrounded by feathery papyrus, marshy lagoons, and grassy shores. The lake itself is not technically a national park as most of the land around the lake is privately owned, but there are enough wildlife attractions to warrant a listing.

Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow-barked acacia tree, and full of birds and black and white colobus monkeys. It offers guests an opportunity to take an adventure with boat trips and reach the hippos, pelicans, and fish eagles ground. There are no predators, so this is one of the few places in Kenya offering the opportunity to walk amongst the animals.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve

When it comes to game viewing, there is nowhere in Africa richer in wildlife or more eventful in encounters than the Mara. A pristine wilderness of haunting beauty, it promises its visitors a profusion of wildlife, prolific bird life, and the unprecedented opportunity of catching up with all the members of the big five in one morning.

As to scenery, the 1,800 square kilometers of this veteran reserve offer the classic mix of African imagery, miles of lion-gold grasslands, shoals of lilac-misted hills, a meandering river, acres of thorn-bush, and mile upon mile of undulating wilderness. The Maasai Mara is the home of the fabled Maasai peoples. During this safari, you will be able to visit a Maasai village to learn about the proud nomadic Maasai people.

Amboseli National Park

This park is renowned for its elephants, who may be seen in herds over 100 strong drinking from the surface springs. There are so many of them that their penchant for pushing down trees is destroying the habitat that sustains them. Big old bull elephants carry some of the largest tusks to be seen anywhere in Africa and is a renowned feature of this park.

This safari will take place from Nakuru County to Maasai Mara and Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Kenya, officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in East Africa. With its capital city in Nairobi, Kenya has numerous wildlife reserves containing thousands of animal species. It has a land area of 580,000 kilometers and a population of nearly 39 million residents, representing many different peoples and cultures.

The country is named after Mount Kenya, a significant landmark and second among Africa's highest mountain peaks. Kenya offers travelers an unparalleled range of options. It possesses an incredible diversity of landscapes, cultures, wildlife, and activities. For a country of its size, Kenya sure packs a lot in, from mountains and deserts, colorful tribal culture, beaches, and coral reefs to some of Africa’s best wildlife attractions.
