You will be staying for two nights (on the first and fifth day of the tour) at a hotel in Kathmandu and spend the remaining three nights at a camp.


Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel

As per your flight plan, Himalayan Scenery Treks and Expedition will be at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), Kathmandu, to stretch out a warm welcome to you in the wonderful nation for the lovely outing. As you fly towards the international terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) on a clear sunny day, you can see the breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks spread in distance. Once you land, a representative from Himalayan Scenery Treks and Expedition will escort you to your hotel. The day is a complete leisure. You can either choose rest at your hotel room and remove jet lag or take a short walk around in the ancient valley of Kathmandu.

Day 2: Fly to Biratnagar and drive to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

After a morning breakfast in the hotel, you will go to the domestic terminal to take an hour flight to Biratnagar, located in eastern Nepal. After you take off from the Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you can enjoy the aerial view of the ancient Kathmandu valley accompanied by various never-ending Himalayan-chains. At Biratnagar Airport (BIR), you will be welcomed by one of Himalayan Scenery Treks and Expedition Wildlife's representatives and you will be transferred to the camp. The drive from Biratnagar to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is about one and a half hour. The guest relation officer will brief you on the facilities of the camp and activities you will be doing on your arrival at the resort. After the briefing, you will get refreshed, have lunch, and rest at the resort. In the evening, you will head out for the sunset in the river bank.

Day 3: Jungle activities at Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

Waking up with a singing of birds, you will get freshen up, have tea and breakfast, and then set off to see birds around the camp. First light of the day is the best time for bird watching. In the morning, the concentration of the bird is high and if you are lucky enough, you will get to see the shy species like crakes and bitterns. Today, you will spend the full day walking and watching birds inside Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Because of thin Indian rosewood forest, this location has been the excellent habitat for the various species of birds. The best place to watch the bird is in between the camp and Kusaha. During your walk inside the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, you will encounter various species of birds including, Warblers, flycatchers, oriole, bush warblers, raptors, and many more. After the full day of bird watching walk, you will return back to camp in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Safari activities at Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

Today, you will be starting your day early after breakfast. Finishing up the breakfast, you will set off from the camp to go on a boating trip on the Sapta Koshi River (river made up of seven largest rivers) with a naturalist. While boating along the Sapta Koshi River, you will get to see water birds, water buffaloes, dolphins, and other various water habitats. After an hour of enjoying the boating on the rubber boat, you will have a picnic lunch at the bank of the river. You will then drive to Koshi Barrage to view some more bird-life and freshwater dolphins. In the late afternoon, you will drive back to the camp and come to the end of your trip. During your way back at the camp, you can have the chance to see the rare and endangered swamp francolin.

Day 5: Drive to Biratnagar and fly to Kathmandu

Waking up early with the singing of birds, you will spend the morning watching the bird around the camp premises before breakfast. You will then take a time off for packing luggage. As per your flight schedule, one of the representatives will transfer you to the Biratnagar for connecting flight to Kathmandu.

Day 6: See you again

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve
