Program

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Himalaya Hearts’ representative will be at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) on the first day of your soft adventure with jungle safari. They will drive you to your hotel and brief about the programs for the next couple of days. It’s a day at leisure to adjust in a completely new climatic and cultural atmosphere. So, take it easy and wander around to get an insight on the local area.

Day 2: Kathmandu - Nepalgunj - Bardiya (Fly and Drive)

You will fly to Nepalgunj today. Nepalgunj is one of the major trade centers in the western Nepal that lies 366 kilometers aerial distance west from Kathmandu. About an hour of flight will take you to Nepalgunj Airport (KEP) and drive to Bardiya for another two hours. Nepalgunj Airport (KEP) is the nearest airport from Bardiya National Park.

Once you reach and check in to your hotel, you will get your activity schedule from the hotel and will follow the same to explore the jungle. It’s a peaceful stay near the national park.

Day 3: Explore the Wildlife (Bardiya National Park)

The first day of jungle safari, it will take you for a Jeep drive safari and later on a dugout canoe ride. You will be looking out for one-horned rhino, bear, deer, Bengal tiger, bison, wild boar, etc. You will become familiar with a lot of different species of birds.

Day 4: Explore the Wildlife (Bardiya National Park)

On the second day of the wildlife exploration in Bardiya, you will go for a long day jungle walk searching for the wildlife like Bengal tiger and rhinoceros. You will spend the day in the jungle to walk and explore the animals and birds. The peaceful yet daring adventure walking in the jungle will bring you some wildlife wonders.

Day 5: Bardiya - Nepalgunj - Kathmandu (Drive and Fly)

You will take your breakfast and drive to Nepalgunj Airport (KEP) to catch your flight back to Kathmandu. You will spend time at leisure once you are in Kathmandu.

Day 6: Explore Kathmandu

After a few days of jungle safari activities, it’s time now to indulge in the cultural exploration of Kathmandu valley. You have a heritage tour in Kathmandu scheduled for the day.

You will explore the cultural heritage sites like Swoymbhunath, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath today. These sites will give you insights on the ancient and medieval life in Kathmandu, the faith of people on the spirituality, their love for art and craft and beautiful history of Kathmandu valley. This will be the day full of beautiful cultural, spiritual and historical wonders to wrap up our trip with an incredible cultural indulgence.

Later in the evening, you can take leisurely walk around to find out something that might interest you.

Day 7: Departure Day

Get ready to drive to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) to catch your departure flight. Himalaya Heart will drive you there three hours prior to your flight time.

Bardiya National Park (968 square kilometers) is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai. It is thickly forested by sal trees and is carpeted with grass, savannah, and river line forest. It is regenerated habitat for endangered species like the rhinoceros, wild elephant, tiger, swamp deer, black buck, glacial, crocodile and Gangetic dolphin Endangered birds include the Bengal florican, lesser florican, silver-eared mesia, and sarus crane.
