Location

World Heritage listed Fraser Island, Australia, is a remarkable natural beauty that has been developing for over 800,000 years. Showcasing spectacular eroded sculptures of iron-rich colored sands, over 40 rare freshwater lakes, each its own unique shape and color, towering rainforests dating back 1,000 years, the world’s only rainforest growing in sand, crystal clear creeks, swampy wetlands, heathlands bright with wildflowers and sweeping beaches lined with Pandanus palms.

Named K’Gari, meaning paradise, by the indigenous Badiala people, Fraser Island is 4WD access only; no bitumen roads, no shopping centers; just pure natural beauty with camping grounds and lodges sparsely dotted across Fraser Island. On Fraser Island, view over 325 species of birds, several species of wallabies, possums, turtles, flying foxes, echidnas, and Eastern Australia’s purest form of dingoes. The warm waters surrounding Fraser Island attract an abundant of marine life including dugongs, dolphins, turtles, sharks, manta rays and magnificent humpback whales, which can be spotted off the Eastern Beach and Indian Head from late July to early November.
