Program

Day 1: Arrival in San Jose

After your flight, you will exit the plane and instantly feel the pure Costa Rican air; here your adventure begins. A representative will be waiting for you at the airport to accompany you during your private transfer to your hotel. You will be free to explore San Jose and experience the lively, cultural city.

Day 2: Cartago / Turrialba

Today, you will experience the ruins of an old church and learn the history of the first capital of Costa Rica, Cartago, a city surrounded by mountains. You can take in the scent of thousands of flowers while stopping at a local farm along the way until you reach your next destination.

Besides, you can also absorb the beauty of the panoramic view of the Central Valley from the height of one of Central America’s tallest volcanoes, the Irazu Volcano. Later, you will travel to reach the next destination in the Turrialba Volcano area, a unique area that lies at the crossroads of the South-Pacific, Central Valley, and Atlantic Coast.

Day 3: Guayabo National Monument

From tombs to sculptures, you depart early from your hotel to feel the energy of Costa Rica’s ancient civilization on a two-hour walk in one of the country’s few archeological sites, Guayabo National Monument. Moving on from the dull but powerful artifacts of the ancient times, you will arrive at the vibrant and colored El Catie Botanical Gardens in the valley of Turrialba filled with rare plants from all around the world.

Day 4: Sarapiqui

You will leave the beautiful mountains to travel to your next hotel in the Caribbean lowlands of Sarapiqui. Surrounded completely by the jungle, you will walk and explore the nature trails with your guide who will point out many different species of wildlife along the way. Enjoy the sights and sounds and be one with nature as you experience this new temperament!

Day 5: Finca Sura

Learn how farmers in Costa Rica have evolved their practices to coexist with nature and live off the land in a more eco-friendly way at Finca Sura, a local family farm! Tonight, you will learn about the lifecycle of the magnificent butterflies and their importance to the ecosystem and later explore the nocturnal life of the rainforest in an ecological garden located far away from the roads.

Day 6: Arenal Volcano

From the cacao fruit to the final product, you will learn the process to create one of the most delicious desserts in the world, chocolate. After you taste this bittersweet treat, you will set out to your new location in the Arenal Volcano Area. Tonight, you will enjoy a candlelit dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: La Fortuna Waterfall

Get your walking shoes on and your cameras ready because today you will experience the many different hues of vivid greens as you explore the rainforest for the very first time, both from the ground and from the treetops, as you will be crossing over the jungle via hanging bridges! The pristine forest only grows in beauty and awe as you continue your trek toward the looming La Fortuna Waterfall, where you can feel united with nature as you swim in its waters. You will enjoy a delicious dinner at your hotel.

Day 8: Tenorio National Park

Today, you will meet the empowering and inspirational cloud forest of Tenorio National Park. As the mist parts around you opening the way to the depths of the forest, you will discover the mesmerizing sky blue stream of the Celeste River with natural hot springs and a singular, tranquil waterfall with varied flora and fauna in the background. You will enjoy the last dinner at your hotel.

Day 9: See you again

It is not a “good-bye” but a “see-you-again” as you take your private transfer to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) to travel back home and reunite with family and friends.
