The camp offers comfortable accommodation together with the unique opportunity to enjoy a real safari experience. In its comfortable tents one will feel completely immersed in the surroundings and one can enjoy the rich animal life and vegetation of the area.

This is an original form of accommodation which resembles the old camps of the first explorers in Africa, with all the commodities of today. It is located a two-hour drive along a panoramic route from the Olduvai Museum and the river Grumeti, two of the indispensable visits for all travelers to Tanzania.

The camp has been designed to cause a minimum impact on the environment. All of the infrastructure is mobile and the philosophy of the company is not to leave anything behind. There are eleven spacious tents with a private en-suite bathroom which includes a camp shower, wash basin, and toilet. All of the tents have large beds (double or two singles).

The electricity is provided by solar panels. The camp has a cozy dining room tent, with interior and exterior areas. It’s possible to organize picnics. In the afternoon, you can enjoy an aperitif before dinner around the campfire light.

Tloma Lodge

Tloma Lodge has been built on the foothills of the highlands of Ngorongoro, a small and exclusive lodge with 24 small cottages built in colonial style and 12 rooms overlooking the garden in the main building. The design of the entire complex looks to create an atmosphere evoking the colonial plantations and farms described in many books and films.

The excellent location of Tloma on the top of a valley offers fantastic views over a coffee plantation and the walls of the Ngorongoro Crater which can be enjoyed from the private terraces of the rooms. The gardens, full of flowers and bushes, are particularly attractive, although guests find it difficult to choose between a walk around the gardens or relax around the heated pool.

Tloma has 36 cottages with spacious en-suite rooms with a private bathroom with shower. The cottages are connected with one another by pathways. All the rooms have a private terrace with seating with views of the Ngorongoro highlands. Large double or triple bedrooms with mosquito nets are available.

The main building has a comfortable leisure area with a restaurant and a large terrace which offers impressive views of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The large garden is ideal for a walk. Guests can enjoy the excellent homemade meals made daily with fresh products from the farm’s gardens and served as a buffet. Depending on the weather, dinners are served on the terrace.

Note: The rooms’ availability in the proposed lodges will be confirmed at the time of booking. Early booking is recommended, especially for arrivals in high season.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater is popularly known as the eighth wonder of the world. It covers an area of 259 square kilometers (100 square miles). The walls of the crater are 610 meters high, which makes it the largest intact crater in the world. It is home to about 25,000 larger mammals, almost half of them zebras and gnus.

There are also buffaloes, gazelles, elands, and warthogs. Such vast numbers naturally attract many predators, mainly lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. The crater is also well known for its hugely diverse bird life. More than 100 species of birds not found anywhere in the Serengeti have been spotted here.

Whereas the temperature on the rim of the crater is usually chilly and the atmosphere foggy, half way down the crater it brightens up. At the bottom of the crater the temperature is as warm as in the savanna.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park covers an area of about 14,763 square kilometers. The park boasts the highest concentration of wildlife on the African continent and is one of the best places to see the big five - elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, and buffaloes.

The annual animal migration led by thousands of gnus begins in May and lasts until June. Gazelles, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and eland antelopes, all in search of water, take part in this migration.

The migrating herds are accompanied by predators and scavengers such as lions, hyenas, and vultures. Other common species found here include hippos, giraffes, eland antelopes, impalas, baboons, monkeys, and almost 500 species of birds.
