Night 1: Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge

Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge is nestled up against the Ngorongoro Forest Reserve, offering stunning views over a working coffee plantation onto the forest.

Catering to safari visitors, Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge is located between the villages of Rhotia and Karatu, on the Northern Tanzania safari circuit. The lodge is well situated for visiting Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park.

Twenty-six cottages, including three two-room family suites, comprise spacious accommodation with hand crafted furniture, a private veranda, fireplace, indoor and outdoor shower, and a ‘slipper’ bath tub. Each room has two large beds, a seating area, writing desk and chair, plus ample closet space.

An expansive common area houses the reception, lounge, bar, and dining room, complete with complimentary Wi-Fi. A large veranda overlooks the swimming pool, spa, and guest rooms, a perfect space for enjoying afternoon tea or evening cocktails. There is a small gift shop, as well.

The spacious rooms are situated in ten double cottages. Each room has a king bed plus an additional queen size bed, all under mosquito netting, making each room suitable for either twin or double occupancy. There is a dressing area, a fireplace, sitting area, and a writing desk. The large bathrooms have both slipper style bathtubs and a shower; plus, there is an adjoining outdoor shower, as well.

Through the French doors, guests access their private veranda with views over the coffee estate and majestic Ngorongoro Forest. Additionally, three family suites comprise six adjoining rooms suitable for large families, sleeping up to six people in each suite.

  • Accommodation level: Mid-range

Nights 2 and 3: Tukaone Serengeti Camp

Tukaone Serengeti Camp is a private safari camp perfectly located in heart of Central Serengeti, with perfect views of Hembe Hills overlooking endless plains of the Serengeti. Its unique location provides diversity of resident wildlife and the migration of millions of animals that pass through these plains year after year.

Tukaone Serengeti Camp has been designed to blend into its surroundings and minimize its visual and environmental impact while catering to their clients. All the tents are custom made using heavy duty canvas and ensure a spacious room complete with en-suite bathrooms.

The camp has 10 spacious tents where you can enjoy all services of a hotel but feeling in the middle of the savanna, surrounded by Acacia trees and animals. Tents can be configured for either single, double, twin, or triple occupancy. All tents have private flush toilets, hot and cold showers, and wash basins.

Spacious verandas in front of your room are furnished with comfortable safari chairs and table, giving a perfect retreat for relaxing moments while watching the animals and birds.

Electrical lighting is through solar power that provides just the right amount of light after dark and, in this case, giving a highly reduced carbon footprint and glare. This preserves the delicate balance of the eco-system and adds to the greater appreciation of the vast, open starry skies of the Serengeti Plains. The camp has a power station where you can charge your cameras, phones, and other small items.

With 24 comfortable en-suite rooms, a cozy living space, friendly local staff, and generous African-inspired meals, Rhino Lodge welcomes guests to Africa's most remarkable game park.

There are 24 guest rooms, all with a veranda overlooking a stretch of high mountain forest. Each room has its own shower, toilet, and hand basin.

To keep away the cold, each room has a wood-burning stove, and hot water bottles can be filled, if you want one. In the bar / dining room, there are two large fires, which are a natural focus, where the guests like to meet and exchange stories of the day.
