During the safari, you will spend all nights at various camps in Maasai Mara Reserve, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli National Park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara Game Reserve

Drive in from Nairobi in the morning through the dramatic Great Rift Valley with a stopover at View Point and Narok town for lunch to the Masai Mara National Reserve to begin your seven-day cheap budget camping tour. On arrival, you will enjoy an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 2: Discover Masai Mara Game Reserve

A full day is spent in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. This game will be in search of great predators and perhaps even cubs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst Acacia boughs. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 3: Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve

Another day will be spent in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. During your stay, you also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people or an early hot air balloon. Overnight at the campsite.

Day 4: Maasai Mara - Lake Naivasha (Great Rift Valley)

After breakfast, you will depart to Lake Naivasha where you will arrive in time for lunch at your accommodation. You take an optional boat ride. Alternatively, a nature walk at Crescent Island is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot, Overnight at the campsite.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha - Amboseli National Park

Depart in the morning after breakfast passing through the scenic Athi Plains and into the bush country of Amboseli National Park to continue your budget tour, home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of Elephants. Lunch on arrival followed by an evening game drive. In addition to antelopes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and the rare and elusive leopard, nearly every vista within the park is framed by the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 6: Explore Amboseli

Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, you set off for another stimulating game drive in search of the herds of jumbo elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, and baboons. An optional visit to a Maasai village is planned after breakfast. Midday finds you at your camp for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another extensive game drive in the evening. Overnight at the campsite.

Day 7: Amboseli National Park - Nairobi

After breakfast in the morning, you depart by road to Nairobi to end your budget tour.

About the safari

From Nairobi city, the capital of Kenya with its tall buildings, businesses, and cosmopolitan nature, to the central part of Kenya, rich in Agricultural activities, and Mount Kenya to the semi-arid northern part of the country which harbors Samburus and the game reserve with its unique species of animals like the gravy zebra, reticulated giraffe, oryx, and the generuk antelope.

You will descend down the floor of the Great Rift Valley to view the alkaline Lake Nakuru with its multi-million lesser flamingos and pelicans. The tour will also take you to the dry Maasai Country with some parts of the rolling savannah grassland which sustains the ecosystem in Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the home of the big five with many plain game animals not forgetting the Mara River which is the gateway of annual migration of wildebeests and zebras.

Masai Mara Game Reserve

This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is home to the big five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino.

Lake Naivasha

Lake Naivasha is one of the freshwater lakes of the Great Rift Valley.

Crescent Island

The Island is a private game sanctuary, which is home to zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, vervet monkeys, hares, genet cats, waterbucks, and giraffes.

Amboseli National Park

In addition to antelopes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and the rare and elusive leopards, nearly every vista within the park is framed by the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
