Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

Depart from Nairobi towards Maasai Mara Reserve via the Great Valley Viewpoint where you will have a stop over for sightseeing (weather permitting). Arrive in the tented camp in time for lunch and later enjoy a game drive in this land of breath taking where everything is big. Hunt for the Big Five as well as the plain game such as the gnus that are abundant.

Day 2: Masai Mara

Enjoy a full day game viewing in the rolling grass of Mara with endless plains where more than two million wild beast gnu's are migrating from Serengeti in Tanzania with their calves. Visit the banks of Mara river to try and spot the hippos. You will have an optional visit to a Maasai village to learn their unchanged culture.

Day 3: Masai Mara - Nairobi

Have a morning drive to try and search for what you have not sported before returning to the camp for lunch and checkouts. Say 'kwaheri', a Swahili word for good-bye to the pastoral Maasai as you depart for Nairobi to catch a flight at the airport on your way back home.

This safari will take place in Masai Mara, Kenya. The Masai Mara National Reserve lies in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya, on the border to Tanzania and the Serengeti National Park. The Masai Mara is one of the most well known and most popular reserves in the whole of Africa.

This is also partly because of the tall red-robed Masai people whose lifestyle has changed little over the centuries and jointly with the government own the Masai Mara which is its reasoning for being a reserve rather than a national park.

As with most game parks in East Africa, there is no border fencing which gives animals the liberty to move outside the park into huge areas known as 'dispersal areas'. There can be as much wildlife roaming outside the park as inside. Many Masai villages are located in the 'dispersal areas' and they have, over centuries, developed a synergetic relationship with the wildlife.

    Amazing experience

CONS Cons: The breakfast and dinner at sopa lodges was very satisfying by quality and variety, however lunch boxes could slightly improve.

PROS Pros: First of all I would like to thank gracepatt for an amazing experience. This was an eight day safari starting from Nairobi to Amboseli, then continuing to lakes Naivasha and Nakuru. And finally 3 nights in Masai Mara and finishing in Nairobi.I really enjoyed the trip, everything was well organized and the team was truly pleasant to have around. Their representative was already waiting for me at the airport when l arrived. After that I proceeded straight to amboseli. Sami, who was my driver has been a great companion on the journey and thanks to his keen eye I managed not to miss many amazing sights throughout the safari such as lioness with its killed buffalo as well as a beautiful cheetah family. For accommodation Grace arranged lovely Sopa lodges, which were comfortable, nicely decorated and in convenient location. As for the national parks, there wasn't a single one which wouldn't have something to offer. Unique landscapes of amboseli, sights of animals with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background, lake Naivasha with dozens of Marabu storks, gorgeous canyon of the valley of death, lake Nakuru with its flamingos and rhinos and of course the best of them all-Masai Mara with its herds of buffaloes and zebras and stunning great cats. I was lucky enough to complete the Big Five, which was the goal of the trip. Overall It truly was a wonderful holiday. Gracepatt team was friendly, professional and also flexible as they tailored the experience to my needs. I would definitely recommend them and I already discussed another safari holiday with them for the next year.

Organizer response: Thank you Katarina for your kind words and taking your time to review us, we are grateful that you enjoyed your safari with our driver guide Sammy and accommodation with Sopa Lodges. We look forward to serving you again in the near future. Regards Grace

"We were in and out of Nairobi over the span of a week, and Patrick very kindly transported us between the airport and our hotel multiple times. He picked us up at all hours of the day (once even at 2 AM) and always had a smile on his face. He was very kind and made our trip that much more comfortable. If we are ever in Nairobi again, we will be sure to use Patrick's services again!"

"My friends and I booked this tour and ended up having the time of our lives! Patrick was open, friendly, knowledgeable and lots of FUN. While en route to our various destinations, he pointed out things that were of interest; he stayed with us during our tours and even took pictures of and with us. We did a lot while there but THIS TOUR was above and beyond our expectations. We were kissed by the giraffes; played with warthog bones; got muddied by the baby elephants; watched the process of making Kazuri beads and pottery; ate delicious food; watched traditional African dances and explored mud huts/homes. We are planning to return and have decided that we will do the safari with Patrick, of course!!! "
