Beautiful Rwanda and Uganda Safaris

The tiniest sunbirds iridescent in the morning light, the massive lumbering yet silent elephant disappearing like a vapor behind the trees, the chimpanzees crashing about the forest canopy, and the lugubrious gorilla chewing thoughtfully in the bamboo thicket. Snow-capped peaks, tropical, sandy, freshwater beaches, and smiling faces everywhere. It is all in this safari, a feast for all the senses. See Uganda and Rwanda that are known and loved by their people.

This safari will take place in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda.

Rwanda is often called the land of the thousand hills. While visiting this country, everywhere you look you will see the beautiful green hills. In Rwanda, you can enjoy culture, nature, primates, and the beaches of Lake Kivu.

The most popular park of Rwanda is Volcanoes National Park, where you can track the gorillas and the golden monkeys, or do different hikes in this dramatic volcanic landscape. You can visit Nyungwe National Park, one of the world's most beautiful and oldest rainforest of Africa, or you can go for safari in Akakera National Park on the border with Tanzania.

Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park is 160 square kilometers in size. It is the oldest national park in Africa, established in 1929 as the Albert National Park. In 1967, famous for mountain gorillas, the American zoologist, Dian Fossey, who had been doing research on mountain gorillas in the forests of the Congo, fled from insecurity and established her research base at a place between Visoke and Karisimbi volcanoes, now known as the Karisoke Research Center.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, located in south-western Uganda, occupies an area of 321 square kilometers. This ancient rainforest is the home to half of the world's mountain gorillas. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of these gentle giants is considered to be the most exciting wildlife encounter in Africa, and possibly, the world.

Humans and gorillas share 94.8% of the same genetic makeup. This national park is home to 120 mammal species, 346 species of birds, 202 species of butterflies, 163 species of trees, 100 species of ferns, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, and geckos, many which are endangered.
