Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast at your place, you will be picked up at 8:00 a.m. In the morning, you will drive southwest through Maasai steppe land to Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch.
You will spend the rest of the day game viewing in Tarangire, viewing some of Tanzania’s largest populations of elephants and enjoying the diverse scenery, including the dramatic baobab trees that are so typical of the park. This park boasts a high concentration of animals, including elephant, zebra, eland, and wildebeest, and plenty of predators.
Picnic lunch will be served at the picnic site where you will have a nice view of Tarangire River overlooking the valley where most of the animals will be gathering and drinking from the river. After lunch, you will proceed with game drives until mid-afternoon when you will start to drive to Africa Safari Glamping, Mto wa Mbu for overnight.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you depart with a Jeep for the most famous safari park in the world, Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti hosts the most extensive population of wild animals on Earth and has a complex and untouched ecosystem.
Serengeti means "endless plains" in the language of the Maasai, a description that the Serengeti completely lives up to. These endless plains have to be experienced to be fully appreciated. You will visit the heart of the Serengeti, Seronera Valley. This valley might be termed as the ‘classic’ Serengeti; short grass plains with all different kinds of wild animals ranging from the impressive lion to the naughty mongoose. Overnight at Serengeti Tanzania Bush Camp.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
On day three, you will experience a full-day Jeep safari in Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, you will go deeper into the Serengeti in search of the migration. The Great Wildebeest migration is one of the “New 7 Wonders of the World”. Nowhere in the world there is a movement of animals as immense as this.
The principle players are the wildebeest, followed by Thomson’s gazelle, zebra, and eland. Huge herds of these animals roam the Serengeti plains in search of water. The lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, and lesser predators await the annual coming of the migration with eager anticipation.
The annual 800-kilometer journey is a cyclical pilgrimage that has no real beginning or end. The precise timing of the migrations changes annually and is an unpredictable and spontaneous natural event depending mainly on the rainfall pattern of each year. Because of the global climate changes, the annual pattern changes but a general trend can be observed. Overnight at Serengeti Tanzania Bush Camp.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater
In the morning, you will have a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the crater offers a unique biosphere that has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. There are very few places in the world where you can find such a large population of wildlife throughout the year.
Deep within the crater, enclosed by towering walls, you have a good chance of spotting ‘The Big 5’, lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. For the latter two, you need a bit of luck as they tend to shy away. Approximately 30,000 animals live on the crater floor. You have your packed lunch in the crater and then head back to your lodge. In the afternoon, you can relax and look back on a beautiful day. Overnight at Octagon Lodge.
Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game drives. It is where you will spend the half-day game viewing at this magnificent park which is dominated by an underground water forest and an alkaline lake where thousands of flamingoes can be seen at a certain time of the year. Picnic lunch will be served, and late afternoon drive back to Arusha for drop off.
