Program
Day 1: Drive from Dar es Salaam - Mikumi National Park
You will depart Dar es Salaam early in the morning to reach Mikumi National Park. You will have your lunch en-route and will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the national park, on arrival. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Camp Bastian Mikumi.
Day 2: Game drive in Mikumi National Park and drive back to a short game drive
After breakfast, you will enjoy a short game drive in the national park. After the safari ends, you will drive back to Dar es Salaam, where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Location
This safari will take place at the Mikumi National Park. The national park shares the northern border of Africa's biggest game reserve - the Selous Game Reserve and is transected by the surfaced road between Dar-es-Salaam and Iringa. It is thus the most accessible part of a 75,000 square kilometer (47,000 square miles) tract of wilderness that stretches east almost as far as the Indian Ocean. It takes about a four hours drive from Dar es Salaam to reach here.
With almost guaranteed year-round wildlife sightings, Mikumi makes an ideal safari destination for those without much time. The park spans across 3230 square kilometers of land and is set between the Uluguru Mountains to the northeast, the Rubeho Mountains to the northwest, and the Lumango Mountains to the southeast. Mikumi hosts buffaloes, wildebeests, giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras, leopards, crocodiles, and much more of wildlife. Chances are high that you will see a respectable sampling of these within a short time of entering the park.
