This Southern Tanzania safari will take you to Selous Game Reserve and Mikumi National Park where you will get to experience boat and walking safaris, as well as game drives. Nights 1-2: Mloka Selous Lodge

The camp is located directly by the main gate, Mtemere Airstrip, and the game reserve border. Rufiji River is within walking distance, with its wonderful and spectacular scenery. The nearby Rufiji River has many affluents, which make this area a great attraction for the animals that come for food and water. This makes animal viewing an easy and pleasurable experience.

The camp guarantees first-class amenities, facilities, and service. It has 13 rooms and traditional huts, which are spacious, with comfortable beds and ceiling fans, each with its own bathroom with toilet, hot water, and shower. All rooms are equipped with hot water forest showers, European toilets and bathrooms, ceiling fans, and charging points for mobile phones and cameras.

There is a restaurant on-site, which offers a full board service, and all meals are freshly made from local ingredients by their excellent staff. In the middle of the camp, there is a special lake close to the restaurant that attracts plenty of elephants, monkeys, leopards, and other animals for a drink and a rest. There is also a swimming pool available.

Program

Day 1: Dar es Salaam - Selous Game Reserve

In the morning, at 07:00, you will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam to drive towards Selous (Nyerere), the journey will take about 4 hours through the most unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania.

Lunch shall be served at 14:00 at Mloka Lodge around 15:30, embark on a boat for a boat safari in which you'll admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Selous Game Reserve is home to a high diversity of both large mammals and bird species, and the world's largest population of African hunting dogs exists in the reserve. Dinner and overnight will be at.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive Selous (Nyerere National Park)

On this day, you will explore Selous early in the morning around 06:00, look for leopards, lions, wild dogs, hyenas, buffaloes, wildebeest, elands, hartebeest, crocodiles, lizards, and other residents. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this reserve.

The network of rough roads is reliably rewarding, especially during the dry season around the lakes. In the afternoon, you will be back at the lake for lunch before the evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mloka Selous Lodge.

Day 3: Selous - Mikumi

You will enjoy an early morning breakfast and game drive en route to Mikumi National Park. You will pass Morogoro, over the Uluguru Mountains, across rivers, and past small local villages and farms. You will have a Maasai village tour. Dinner and overnight will be at Morio Motel.

Day 4: Full-day game drive

In the morning, after breakfast, leave for a full-day game drive. Animals commonly found here include lions, elands, hartebeest, buffaloes, wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, and elephants. Wild dogs can be seen in packs here. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centerpiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. Dinner and overnight will be at Morio Motel.

Day 5: Mikumi - Dar es Salaam

You will drive to Dar es Salaam, where you will arrive in the late evening and be dropped off at the curio shop or airport, depending on your decision.
