During the safari, you will stay for two nights at Lobo Campsite and one night at Simba Campsite, This package also includes a two-night stay at Venice Hotel (before and after the safari).

Program

Day 1: Arrival Tanzania

Welcome to Tanzania! As your plane descends into the airport, your adventure into the wilds of the country will finally begin. A representative will meet you in the arrivals hall of the airport, and together you will make a short drive to the hotel, just inside the city. Foot Slopes Tours & Safaris' safari manager will come to meet you and to provide you with a safari briefing.

Day 2: Arusha to Northern Serengeti National Park

Pick up early in the morning at the hotel around 7:00 a.m. and drive to the Northern Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, you descend into the heart of wild Africa - the Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

Head to the Central Park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. You arrive in time for lunch at Nabi gate and enjoy an afternoon en-route game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight in the Lobo Campsite.

Day 3: Northern Serengeti game drive

After having breakfast, you will experience a game drive following the animal migration at the Northern Serengeti. You can see wildebeests, zebras, topi hartebeests, elands, antelopes, hyenas, and various birds singing in the trees while viewing the beautiful landscape and nature. Usually, in July, August and the beginning of November, the migration reaches its northern range in which the herds cross the grasslands on either bank of the crocodile-infested Mara River twice, as they complete their migration. You will also be able to enjoy the sunset at Serengeti between 18:20 - 18:40 after the game drive before returning and staying overnight at Campsite.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After night relaxing, you will have a game drive in the morning, together with breakfast followed by an early lunch, you will proceed to Ngorongoro. Today, you will be doing a game viewing en-route during your way from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater. You will be in Ngorongoro Crater late in the evening where the night will be spent on the crater rim. Dinner and overnight will be at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast, you depart for the descend down the crater for a five-to-six-hour game drive. In the crater, you are able to view the Big Five. See buffalo, giraffe, zebra and many more species, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift Wall. After the game drive in Ngorongoro crater, our driver will take back to Arusha for overnight at the hotel booked for you.

Day 6: Transfer to the airport (Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport)

After breakfast in the lodge, you will be transferred to take the flight back home. This will be the end of your tour and safari holidays with Foot Slopes Tours & Safaris.

Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous national parks in the world, known for its magnificent lions and the great migration. It is one of the most comprehensive and appealing presentations of nature, conservation, and research in general. Every day, hundreds of nature lovers and tourists from all over the world visit it.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Ngorongoro conservation area is among the world’s breathtaking natural wonders with a breathtaking setting and one of the places to see the big five. Once a giant volcano, the Ngorongoro crater in northern Tanzania is the only unbroken volcanic caldera found in the whole world.

It is believed that before its explosion it was more elevated than Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest pinnacle of Mount Kilimanjaro. The crater together with the surrounding highlands makes one of Africa’s most unique and beautiful regions. The craters make a stunning background to several of the majority rich and fertile grazing grounds in Africa.

Ngorongoro conservation area walls of the at crater rim are steep and soar 400 to 610m high giving off an incredible natural drama as predators and prey pursue and graze their way into the open grasslands, acacia woodlands and swamps on the crater base, giving off a wonderful spectacle. Ngorongoro crater is a haven to approximately 25,000 animals and around 400 different bird species.

The main feature of the NCA includes the Ngorongoro Crater, The Serengeti Plains that support about 2.0 million migratory wildlife species of the Serengeti Mara-ecosystem (TAWIRI, 2003) and the catchment forest; the Northern Highland Forest Reserve (NHFR) known as ‘Entim Olturot’ in Maa language.

Other important features found in the NCA are the archaeological and palaeontological site located at Oldupai Gorge and the early human foot-prints that were discovered at Alaitole in Ngarusi area. Because of these, particular features and the harmonious co-existence between wildlife and people that has existed for many years. You can find a good population of black manned lions that trail the grasslands, robust herds of wildebeests along with endangered black rhino, zebras, hyenas, and leopards.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Foot Slopes Tours & Safaris will pick you up from the airport.

You can also fly to Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) and connect the flights to Kilimanjaro airport or Arusha airport. You can also take a bus from Dar es Salaam to Arusha.

If you fly from Zanzibar's Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ), then you need to take a small connecting flight to Kilimanjaro airport or Arusha airport.
