In October and November, they travel from the mountains of the north southwards to the plains, seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June, the herds then make their return journey. Even without this mass migration, Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that will not fail to enthrall. You will have dinner and stay overnight at Lobo Campsite.

Usually, in July, August and the beginning of November, the migration reaches its northern range in which the herds cross the grasslands on either bank of the crocodile-infested Mara River twice, as they complete their migration. You will also be able to enjoy the sunset at Serengeti between 18:20 – 18:40 after the game drive before returning and staying overnight at Campsite.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Safari in Tanzania: After having breakfast, you will experience a game viewing in Serengeti for three hours. Then, you will proceed with a game en-route and arrive at the Nabi gate to have lunch. It is believed that before its explosion it was more elevated than Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest pinnacle of Mount Kilimanjaro. The crater together with the surrounding highlands makes one of Africa’s most unique and beautiful regions. The craters make a stunning background to several of the majority rich and fertile grazing grounds in Africa.

Ngorongoro conservation area walls of the at crater rim are steep and soar 400 to 610m high giving off an incredible natural drama as predators and prey pursue and graze their way into the open grasslands, acacia woodlands and swamps on the crater base, giving off a wonderful spectacle.
