When visiting Zambia we stayed at flat dogs camp, we stayed in the crocs nest and also the treehouse, both amazing! Stay in crocs nest if you want luxury and treehouse if you want to sleep rough although I preferred the treehouse because all you could hear through the night was the animals it was absolutely unreal being right in the middle of all the wildlife. I felt like i was in Jurassic Park at times! I have added some pictures of the wildlife we seen from crocs nest and the treehouse.

I think that most information on this wonderful Flatdogs Camp has been written down already in the earlier reviews. We just want to say thank you to the very friendly staff and the excellent management by the camp managers: Adrian, Jessica, Jamie and Wendy. You guys are the best ! The food was excellent and we enjoyed a great 4-night stay at TENT 7...what an adventure...could have stayed for 2 weeks ! Compliments also for the kitchen staff - the food was wonderful...Would love to come back to Flatdogs again one day !!

Our family of 4 spent 3 nights here last week in the luxury of the Crocs Nest. We had a wonderful guide - Malama - who worked tirelessly to show us all the rich game life on offer at South Luangwa. Dabson accompanied us on the night drives with his powerful torch and eagle eyes (even spotting a small chameleon on a leaf!) The Crocs Nest really offers the best of both worlds as you have your own terrace and pool (with elephants and baboons regularly visiting!) and the staff will deliver your meals to you (3 separate visits for a 3 course meal!!) but you also have the option of eating at the restaurant and using the shared pool - complete with a slide! - if you feel sociable. The camp is so well managed by the owners Jess and Ade and the other managers - Jamie, Wendy and Paolo etc. All the staff were fantastic. A special thanks to Wendy for driving us to the Project Luangwa outlet to show us all the good community work being supported by a group of lodges including Flat Dogs. Food is fantastic - you can eat what you want and when - but be warned the portions are huge! There is really no fault to be found - truly wonderful. GO NOW!

Firstly South Luangwa is THE place to go to for top quality game viewing. Flatdogs is just outside the Game Park and the drive there is very short. The Camp is nestled along the Luangwa river and is frequently attended by elephants, hippos, giraffe and of course monkeys. The staff are all extremely professional and make you feel a part of the family. Our Guide Yotam was top notch knowing pretty much everything about all the wildlife and being an absolute whizz at spotting the tiniest movement enabling us to get quality game viewing. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flatdogs and looking forwards to returning!!

What a wonderful safari experience! We spent one night there and stayed in a tent. There is no fence between wildlife and the camp. We arrived late in the afternoon and saw a big elephants family bathing in the river right in front our tent. There were so many elephants wondering around the camp. On the way to dinner, we saw a lion just a few tents away and the watchman who accompanied us said that there were 15 some lions around the camp that night! How about that, unbelievable! The service and food was top quality. During the safari next day arranged by the camp, we saw a lot of actions: many hippos bathing in the river; crocodiles sunbathing and above all, a lion climbing on a tree and caching a leopard away from their pray, a dead elephant!
