Day 1: Arusha

A representative will be at the pickup place (airport or bus station) of your arrival, feeling excited while waiting for your arrival with your name printed on an A4 paper. You will have a look on Mount Meru as you approach Arusha town and enjoy driving across the coffee and mixed banana plantations. Relax in your already-booked hotel in Arusha after a long flight while you are dreaming of your safari tomorrow morning.

Day 2: Arusha to Northern Serengeti National Park

Pick up early in the morning at the hotel around 7:00 a.m. Your guide will drive you to the Northern Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, you will descend into the heart of wild Africa - the Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

You will head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. You will arrive in time for lunch at Nabi gate and enjoy an afternoon en route game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight in the Lobo area as per the standard type of accommodation option requested.

Day 3: Northern Serengeti full day game drive

After having breakfast, you will experience a game drive following the animal migration at the Northern Serengeti. You can see wildebeests, zebras, topi hartebeests, elands, antelopes, hyenas, and various birds singing on the trees while viewing the beautiful landscape and nature.

Usually, in July, August, and beginning of November, the migration reaches its northern range in which the herds cross the grasslands on either bank of the crocodile-infested Mara River twice, as they complete their migration. You will also be able to enjoy the sunset at Serengeti between 6:20 - 6:40 p.m. after the game drive before returning and staying overnight and dinner in Kogatende area as per the standard type of accommodation option requested.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After a relaxing morning and an early lunch, you will proceed to Ngorongoro. Today, you will be doing a game viewing en-route during your way from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater. You will be in Ngorongoro Crater late in the evening where the night will be spent on the crater rim. Dinner and overnight will be at Simba campsite or other accommodations options if requested.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Game to Arusha

After breakfast, you will depart for the descend down the crater for a five-to-six-hour game drive. In the crater, you are able to view the Big Five. See buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and many more species, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift Wall. After game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, your driver will take back to Arusha for overnight at the hotel booked for you.

Day 6: Arusha

After breakfast, you will be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK). There are focal points for you to have Mount Kilimanjaro view when the cloud is clear on your way the airport. Fig Tree Tours and Travel wishes you all the best on your flight back home. Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park, in northern Tanzania, is known for its massive annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Seeking new pasture, the herds move north from their breeding grounds in the grassy southern plains. Many cross the marshy western corridor’s crocodile-infested Grumeti River. Others veer northeast to the Lobo Hills, home to black eagles. Black rhinos inhabit the granite outcrops of the Moru Kopjes.

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is a protected area and a World Heritage Site located 180 kilometers (110 miles) west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. The conservation area is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, an arm of the Tanzanian government, and its boundaries follow the boundary of the Ngorongoro Division of the Arusha Region.
