Leaving the highlands behind, you descend into the heart of wild Africa - Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

You head to the central area of the park known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park featuring the Seronera River which is a valuable water source for this area and therefore attracts wildlife representative of most of the Serengeti's species. After having an early breakfast, you will proceed directly to the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a five to six hours crater tour with a picnic lunch. Later you will proceed back to Arusha in the evening.

Location

Serengeti National Park, in northern Tanzania, is known for its massive annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Seeking new pasture, the herds move north from their breeding grounds in the grassy southern plains. Many cross the marshy western corridor’s crocodile-infested Grumeti River. Others veer northeast to the Lobo Hills, home to black eagles. Black rhinos inhabit the granite outcrops of the Moru Kopjes.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected area and a World Heritage Site located 180 kilometers (110 miles) west of Arusha, in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. The conservation area is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, an arm of the Tanzanian government, and its boundaries follow the boundary of the Ngorongoro Division of the Arusha Region.
