Day 1: Arrival

Upon your arrival, you will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.

Day 2: Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park

You will be picked up at the hotel after breakfast and proceed to Lake Manyara for a game drive with a picnic lunch in beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. There you will see buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and many other animals, all of them set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift wall. Dinner and overnight will be at Fanaka Campsite.

Day 3: Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you head towards Serengeti National Park via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, you descend into the heart of wild Africa - Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

You head to the central area of the park known as the Seronera Area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park featuring the Seronera River which is a valuable water source for this area and therefore attracts wildlife representative of most of the Serengeti's species. You will arrive in time for lunch and enjoy a two-hour late afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight will be at Seronera Camp.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After waking up in the morning, you will have an early game drive and an early lunch and then proceed with a game drive to Ngorongoro. There the driver guide will continue elaborating the animals and natural beauty of Tanzania on the way to Ngorongoro Crater, describing the en-route animals. The evening will be spent on the crater rim, while dinner and overnight will be at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

After having an early breakfast, you will proceed directly to the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a five to six hours crater tour with a picnic lunch. Later you will proceed back to Arusha in the evening.

Day 6: Departure

At the end of your tour, you will be dropped off at the airport.

Note: Fig Tree Tours and Travel uses 4x4 Land Cruisers with viewing roofs during the safaris, that can accommodate four or six passengers. Fig Tree Tours and Travel guides are licensed, trained, friendly, and have years of experience.

Serengeti National Park, in northern Tanzania, is known for its massive annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Seeking new pasture, the herds move north from their breeding grounds in the grassy southern plains. Many cross the marshy western corridor’s crocodile-infested Grumeti River. Others veer northeast to the Lobo Hills, home to black eagles. Black rhinos inhabit the granite outcrops of the Moru Kopjes.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected area and a World Heritage Site located 180 kilometers (110 miles) west of Arusha, in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. The conservation area is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, an arm of the Tanzanian government, and its boundaries follow the boundary of the Ngorongoro Division of the Arusha Region.
