Program

Day 1: Fly to Madagascar

Your international flight takes you to the intriguing island of Madagascar. After landing in Antananarivo in the late evening, you'll be greeted by local staff and transferred to Bois Vert Hotel near the airport for an overnight stay with breakfast included. This decent hotel offers a comfortable night's rest before you start exploring the unique natural attractions Madagascar has to offer. Get some sleep and fuel up on the included breakfast, as your Madagascan adventure is about to begin.

Day 2: Head to the rainforests of Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

Sleep in and take it easy this morning. After having breakfast, your professional guide and driver will meet you at the hotel. From there, you'll depart on a 5-hour drive east to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, also known as 'Perinet' - it's considered Madagascar's top protected rainforest area.

You'll be staying 3 nights at either Andasibe Hotel or Mantadia Lodge, or a similar accommodation, with dinner and breakfast included. Once you've checked in, you can go on an introductory rainforest walk with your guides to start getting acquainted with the area's flora and fauna. Take in the sights and sounds of this renowned national park.

Days 3-4: Malagasy rainforest magic at its best, Andasibe-Mantadia National Park

You'll have two full days to explore the beautiful montane rainforest of Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Your guides will point out interesting wildlife and plant life along the way. The trails in Andasibe itself, as well as in Analamazaotra and the VOIMMA parcel, are generally easygoing with some slightly moderate sections.

One morning will be dedicated to visiting Mantadia National Park, where you can experience hiking through the primary rainforest. This is an opportunity to potentially spot some rare mammal and bird species that may be harder to see in other parts of the park. Take your time experiencing the different ecosystems and biodiversity this renowned national park has to offer over these two days.

Day 5: Back to Antananarivo

Spend your final morning exploring more of Andasibe's rainforest trails and surroundings. After that, you'll make your way back to Antananarivo, where you'll stay overnight at Bois Vert Hotel with breakfast included. This gives you a chance to recharge before the next leg of your Madagascar trip.

Day 6: Fly to Ile Sainte Marie

You'll be transferred to Ivato airport to catch your Air Madagascar flight over to the relaxed island of Ile Sainte Marie. Upon arrival, you'll be met by local staff and transported to the Princesse Bora Lodge - you may go by vehicle or try the fun experience of an oxcart ride. You'll be staying 7 nights in one of their Charme Villa double or twin villas, with dinner and breakfast included during your stay.

Days 7-12: Sainte Marie, rest & relaxation time

Experience the tranquility of Ile Sainte Marie to the fullest over the week. Relax on its beautiful beaches, discover the enchanting offshore island of Ile Aux Nattes, and embark on explorations via bicycle, quadbike, or tuk-tuk. During the right season, don't miss the opportunity for whale watching with MEGAPTERA. Princesse Bora offers well-organized whale-watching trips in collaboration with MEGAPTERA, where guests can even share their observations with marine biologists afterward.

Day 13: Fly to Antananarivo and departure

Transfer to Ste Marie airport to check in for the Air Madagascar flight back to Antananarivo. On arrival, you'll be met and taken to Bois Vert where you have the use of a day room. Time permitting, you'll be taken to the Artisans market for some souvenir shopping. in the evening, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure.

After a long journey home from this incredible destination, reflect on the amazing wildlife you've seen and start planning your return trip!
