Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1 & 2: Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi where you will be met by FANIA ADVENTURES TOURS representative and chauffeured to your city hotel where your Kenya safari begins. Nairobi is an alluring mix of bustling city areas, lush green forest, rolling hills, shopping malls, and roaming wildlife. There are many activities and experiences that would suit any traveler, from the breathtaking scenery and abundance of natural attractions, to the glitz and glamour of the modern city lifestyle. These first two days in Nairobi offer the ideal way of experiencing the true sights, smells, and sounds of this vibrant city and its surroundings, helping you uncover the local character of the ever-fascinating Nairobi.
Day 3 & 4: Ol Pejeta
Drive from Nairobi in the early morning, heading northwards via the Mount Kenya region, which has beautiful green landscapes and mountains, to Ol Pejeta for game drives.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy includes Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only sanctuary for rehabilitation in Kenya for non-indigenous chimpanzees. It is also home to the Big Five: the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and lion.
Later in the afternoon, embark on a game drive in search of wild animals in their hideouts. As a fiery sunset descends, return to the lodge for dinner and a good night's rest.
Day 5 & 6: Lake Elementaita
After breakfast, depart for Elementaita. Arrive in time for lunch at a hotel in Nakuru before continuing the journey. Later in the evening, proceed to the lodge or camp at Lake Elementaita, a small soda ash lake (18 sq km in size) located on the eastern side of the Great Rift Valley. Much of it is part of the private Soysambu Conservancy. Although situated on private land, it can be visited and is often home to great white pelicans, great crested grebes, and over 350 migratory bird species.
You can also witness giraffes, zebras, gazelles, elands, and families of warthogs. Enjoy a range of outdoor activities, including bird watching and a visit to the natural warm spa that flows into the lake.
There will be an opportunity to visit Lake Naivasha for optional activities such as a boat ride and a guided walk at Crescent Island for an extra cost. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 7: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Depart after an early breakfast to Masai Mara via Narok town, where lunch will be served. Later, arrive in time for check-in at the lodge or camp.
The reserve features vast open spaces, carpets of green grass, and an abundance of stunning, exotic wildlife throughout the year, making it a prime destination and a must-visit for all.
In the afternoon, set off on a game drive just as the animals awaken from their afternoon sleep. As the air cools and the sun sinks lower, witness the excitement of the bush in action, returning at dusk for dinner and a good night's rest.
Day 8: Full Day Masai Mara Game Reserve
After early morning breakfast at the lodge or camp, depart for a full-day game drive with picnic lunch boxes, or enjoy morning and afternoon game drives with a lunch break in between. These drives allow coverage of a larger area to see more of the reserve.
Masai Mara is host to the most spectacular array of wildlife, including the Big Five, cheetahs, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, black-backed and side-striped jackals, hippos, crocodiles, baboons, warthogs, topis, elands, Thompson's gazelles, giraffes, zebras, and more.
Optional activities include hot air balloon safaris, cultural visits, night game drives (certain locations only), and two-hour morning or afternoon walks (certain locations only).
Day 9: Departure to Nairobi
After an early breakfast, enjoy an en-route game drive as you leave the Mara and make your way back to Nairobi, arriving in the city in the mid to late afternoon.
