Explorers Wild Adventures utilizes a comprehensive approach to be sure they choose and employ the best tour guides and service providers within the destinations. Their holidays are some of the best throughout in East Africa, offering a personalized and extraordinary experience.

Day 1 - Nairobi to Masai Mara

At 07:00, you will meet your guide for a briefing at the hotel or airport, then start your journey for the approximately four to five hours drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Skirting around Mount Suswa the road first heads north to Maai Mahiu, south of Lake Naivasha, before turning west to Narok and continuing west and south to the Masai Mara.

A highlight of the journey is the first glimpse of the huge Rift Valley emptiness just past Limuru, at the top of the escarpments of the valley. You can take photos and buy souvenirs as you listen to African tales about the formation of the rift valley.

Arrive at your camp for check-in then you will enjoy lunch provided at the camp and later in the afternoon embark on your first game drive to explore the Masai Mara.

Your destination today will be at the Masa National Reserve. Today's meal plan includes lunch and dinner and you will be staying in a budget tented camp.

Day 2 - Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Full day morning and afternoon game drives. Start your day early by getting up before dawn at 6:00 a.m. to embark on early morning game drive in your tour vehicle to explore the Masai Mara National Park which is a vast expanse of 1500 square kilometers.

Situated at an average altitude of 1650 meters, its plains are an ideal landscape for the elegant and sprightly gazelles. Green in the rainy season, the high-growing grass is dry for the rest of the year, offering one a view of eternal Africa.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch with the hippos and crocodiles at the Hippo pool. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to observe gnu, zebra and their predators (hyenas, lions, leopards, and wild dogs), especially during the migration period between August and September.

Immerse yourself in this prime wildlife area and connect with nature on every level. Variety is what distinguishes the exceptional from the mundane and this reserve offers copious amounts of variation.

Keep your camera handy to capture everything from elephants to gazelles and crocodiles to lions. You can also have the option to participate in a hot air balloon ride or go on a Maasai Village visit at an additional cost.

Today's meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner and you will be staying in a budget tented camp.

Day 3 - Masai Mara back to Nairobi

On this morning, enjoy a pre-breakfast game drive between 6.30 a.m and 9 a.m. After this, return to the camp for a hot breakfast after which you will begin your journey back to Nairobi where the Kenya Camping Safari ends.

Today's meal plan will only include breakfast.

This tour will take place at Kenya's Masai Mara National Park which is a vast expanse of 1500 square kilometers. Situated at an average altitude of 1650 meters, its plains are an ideal landscape for the elegant and sprightly gazelles. Green in the rainy season, the high-growing grass is dry for the rest of the year, offering one a view of eternal Africa. Immerse yourself in this prime wildlife area and connect with nature on every level.

Kenya is simply the best wildlife viewing destination in Africa. Travelers from all over the world are drawn here by its essence: the chance to immerse yourself in the spectacle of the big game, the predators and the prey ritually entwined in a cycle of life and death. Kenya straddles the Equator with geography ranging from snow capped Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa, to lush tropical rainforest and golden sands at sea level.

Kenya is a land of contrasts and extremes: a country with an extraordinary variety of landscapes and locations, all of them striking in their own particular way. It has earned the epithet "the cradle of mankind" for the discovery of archaeological evidence of the earliest origins of mankind.

Kenya not only boasts every known landform but also a wealth of animal and bird life which owes its very existence to the contrasts in the country’s terrain. You do not have to be an ornithologist to enjoy its one thousand species of birds or a zoologist to be amazed by its variety of animals - birds range from the beautiful to the bizarre and the wildlife from the weird to the wonderful…

People nowadays are among the last generations to have the opportunity to experience the vanishing cultures of East Africa. Kenya is the tribal home to 40 different ethnic groups, many still living exactly as their ancestors did thousands of years ago. You can immerse yourself in the ways and culture of some of Africa’s proudest and most striking tribes.

Kenya has 480 kilometers of Indian Ocean coastline and a coral fringe reef, which is home to a colorful plethora of marine life. You can explore its balmy waters by dhow, yacht or powerboat; dive, snorkel and swim in the clear azure waters over fabulous coral beds; hunt for Marlin, Tuna and Sailfish or explore the mangrove swamps and creeks where the cycle begins. The coast is home to a striking mix of people and cultures with beautiful ancient architecture contrasting with the modern day bustle of the 21st century.

Budget Safari - not too impressed

CONS Cons: On their website a different price is advertised ($140 all year round), but it ended up to be more expensive. Although it's stated, there's a water bottle each day provided, we've been told that drinks aren't included just before we hit the road. Overall, the driver was nice, but seemed stressed and rushed through everything. Didn't really say much about the Masai Mara and its wildlife. Only when asked. All vans (not only this company) got way to closely to the animals, which I find very disrespectful to them. (But obviously the visitors are excited to be at arm reach to the animals) The itinerary was different than advertised. Accommodation had some sort of leak in the bathroom, ended up to be a bit flooded with water and dirt. Hot shower lastet only for one person. Food was OK. Lunch box very basic (even from those who stayed at a better lodge).

PROS Pros: Communication with Johann went well, he's responsive and does seem to care. The van seemed to be fairly new, so very comfy. Although the accommodation wasn't as expected, the beds were quite comfy. Driver didn't stop at tourists spots, but focused on seeing animals.

    Duncan was our driver. Johann

CONS Cons: Was not able to pay by card. This came as a surprise the day before our trip. Card would have been much easier and more secure but Johann insisted on cash.p

PROS Pros: Very communicative and attentive. Professional and courteous.

Organizer response: Hello Ryan, It was nice meeting you and we were so glad to host you for the safari duration you had with us. Yes, we did request cash for park fees because in Masai Mara you would not have been able pay via credit, perhaps we apologize you did have this information prior. Otherwise we were okay as you wanted to go ahead and pay through IBN. We thank you so much for having chosen Explorers Wild Adventures as your favorite.

"Just to express that we got back from Tanzania and Kenya yesterday, and what a Trip! The lodges and camps we stayed were all luxury; the staff at both lodges were more than friendly, the locations were awesome and the wildlife was incredibly stunning! We arrived at the Keekorok Lodge in Masai Mara, wondering if the migrations would be a very hard activity to follow, only to find was the most stunning wild trail right in front of the lodge with wide views. It was great! We did not experience any troubles during our safari. All the flight connections and tour coordination you arranged went smoothly. The Timings were all perfect. We more so enjoyed the private charter flight back Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and course Wildlife in Masai Mara and Tsavo park was fascinating. We spotted the leopard 12 times in two game parks. Our guide helped us to track down all the big five. Hard to imagine a better experience but this one surpassed it all. We are again planning when we could go back to Amboseli, Serengeti, Rwanda and Zanzibar. We appreciate with a lot of thanks for your travel expert who helped us in exploring many options to put together such a lifetime adventure."

"Thanks for organising my trip to Kenya. By far my safari exceeded my wildest anticipation. I had a great time and Nickson our guide was absolutely a good experienced safari guide. The whole trip was magnificent and I am now going through my photos and so I want to say a big thank you all for accomplishing all the requirements during the trip. I owe Nickson, a next visit with your company. He must be the only guide I have come across who buys the drinks on the last evening prior to departure. Once I hear anyone of my friends or family interested to tour Africa, I will absolutely recommend Explorers Wild Adventures for them. I will certainly visit another trip with you in the future and I will not miss a visit to Rwanda for the gorillas."

"Hi Johann, Thanks for the email. I have been home for about 14 hours since I departed Nairobi yesterday. To be honest, I had a wonderful trip. David our guide was was fast in finding the animals and he positioned us well up to maximum and capture every photo opportunity we came across with the wild. Then Laibor the local Maasai gave direction to assist me maximize the photographic adventure which was our main interest. David was always helpful with a lot of information. He as well helped me in saving, arranging and making some copies of my photos into Lightroom. At one point, my card reader was unresponsive and he let me use an extra one that he had. I really appreciate everything. I moreover feel like our safari was “down to the ground” amazing – what I wanted. THANK YOU."
