You will get to see from the big five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant) to the endangered cheetah and wild dog, Endless Summer Tours guarantees you’ll find what you're looking for!
Endless Summer Tours will pick you up at O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) or Johannesburg accommodation and transport you to the Kruger National Park. After booking your accommodation, you will embark on your first small game drive to get your first feel of the African bush. The length of the drive will depend on what time you manage to leave the airport and how tired you, the weary traveler, are.
Watch the sunset over the savanna as you begin ticking off the myriad of wildlife this incredible place has to offer. Expect to see antelope, giraffe, and elephant, but who knows perhaps as the day cools, the elusive predators might show themselves! After gate closing, it is a quick dinner prepared on open coals before heading to bed in preparation for an exciting second day.
It is an early rise as the camp gates open at sunrise. There is a reason for this. Besides the opportunity to witness an incredible African sunrise, it also increases the chance of seeing the nocturnal predators still moving about. Not to worry though, a hot cup of coffee / tea will be on hand to kick start those engines. You will head out into the reserve and one of the benefits of staying in the Kruger Camps is that you will be out in the deep wilderness within seconds of leaving your bungalow.
You will drive around searching for wildlife for a few hours and then stop in a beautiful location for a snack breakfast, comprising of fruit, rusks (South African biscuit), muffins, and yogurt, along with a coffee / tea. Then, it is off again to continue your safari adventure. Mid-morning is a great time to see the herbivores moving towards the waterholes to drink as the land begins to warm and the predators tend to slow down.
It is around 11:00, just as your tummies start to rumble, that your guide will pull up to a picnic area and prepare you a cooked breakfast. These picnic areas are situated on rivers and waterholes, giving you a chance to put your feet up and watch the animals come to you. You then head back to camp for the heat of the day. It is up to you what you would like to do. Take a walk around, sit at the fence and enjoy the fence, and watch the animals come pass or simply take a nap.
Once the heat of the day passes, enjoy a snack lunch of cheese, biscuits, biltong (South African meat), and other goodies. You will then join the park safari guides for a sunset drive in their open game drive vehicles. You will head out an hour before sunset. When the darkness descends, pull out spotlights to find the animals. This night time activity allows you the chance to see some nocturnal animals that you would not see during the day usually as well as predators like lion and leopard which are more active.
You will arrive back to camp to a hearty meal prepared on the braai (barbecues). This is a long-standing South African tradition and always a firm favorite. Gather around the campfire with the sounds of the wilderness as your company.
Head out early for a game drive once again, but this time, return to camp for your breakfast snacks. Then, you pack up and check out as you move to another area of the reserve. Endless Summer Tours always like to move to give you a chance to experience different views and habitats. The entire time you are on the game drive, you will still be viewing and ticking animals of your ever increasing list.
Again, in the mid-morning, you will have a cooked brunch at a picnic spot and then keep heading onward to your new camp. Check into your new environment in the early afternoon and enjoy some leisure time. As the sun dips and things start to cool, head out on a drive with your private guide and vehicle. Your highly qualified guide will use all his experience to find you anything that may be missing from the animal list.
Certain animals like certain habitats, so knowing this and a keen eye are essential to spotting something out of the ordinary. Enjoy your final sunset before heading to camp for a delicious farewell dinner. Chat around the crackling campfire, recalling the memories of your adventure filled last few days. A night cap under the incredible African stars is the perfect send off!
Today, you depart the Kruger but not before one last memorable game drive. You will head out with the park guides in the open vehicle once again, using the spotlight before the sunrise. As there has been no traffic over night, being the first ones out increases your chance of seeing something on the road and to get up close and personal. You will then return to camp for a quick breakfast and to check out of your accommodation.
Head for the exit gate but keep your eyes peeled as anything could pop out the bush! Head to the quaint little town of Graskop, situated just south of the mighty Blyde Canyon. There, you will have a quick lunch out in the town (own account) and then go check into your lodge for the evening.
After this, you head to the canyon to take in the magnificent sights and famous landmarks such as God's Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes, 3 Rondawels, and Lisbon Falls. After taking all those magnificent vistas, it is back to the lodge for a dinner in the restaurant and to settle in for the evening.
Today is a travel day and fairly straight forward. You wake at your leisure and enjoy a breakfast. There are a couple of adventure activities to enjoy in Graskop, such as a gorge swing or abseil and many more. You can choose these as an optional extra if you wish. Otherwise, it is off to Johannesburg and to finish off the tour.
This safari will take place in Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon. Kruger National Park is one of the largest conservation areas in the world and gives you the best chance to experience all that Africa has to offer.
During the safari, you will be served three dinners, four breakfasts, snack lunches in the reserve, limited refreshments and tea / coffee, and breakfast snacks for the entire time.
More open vehicle game drives with park rangers can be added on at an additional cost.
