Program

Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park and track rhinos enroute

Set off from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park. You will drive via Luwero, Nakasongola, and Masindi District. On your way to the park, you will break off the highway to visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos. You will spend two to three hours trekking and admiring rhinos.

After this exercise, you will have lunch and then continue your journey and arrive at the park in the evening. The trip will provide you with extensive eye-catching panoramas before reaching the park.

You'll also drive to the top of the falls, where the Nile perfects its splendor. There, you will see the calm Nile dipping itself through a narrow gap to fall a gap of about 150 feet down, mixing up with the loud white water - an incredible view!

Next, cross over the Nile River, find a spot by the ferry for dinner, and then stay overnight at your chosen accommodation.

  • Accommodation options: Para Safari Lodge (luxury), Pakuba Safari Lodge (mid-range), Red Chilly Rest Camp (budget)
  • Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 2: Game drive safari and launch cruise

A game drive and boat cruise are the major Uganda safari activities in Murchison Falls National Park. After breakfast, start an early game drive before dawn to catch up with the early risers.

In this exciting game drive, you will be able to see the animals like jackals, hyenas, giraffes, lions, antelopes, elephants, and the Uganda cobs, among others. You will rest from the game drive for anything to eat and later on, have lunch.

The afternoon time will be for an open launch cruise. The boat trip will take you to the top of the falls where animals such as buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and plenty of water birds like fish eagles, rare shoebills, and many more will not escape your sight. Next, retire for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Tour the magnificent top of the forest and later return to Kampala

After an early morning breakfast, check out of the lodge, drive to the captivating top of the falls, and leave for Kampala. The top of the falls is a wonderfully eye-catching scene, as its where waters of the River Nile, Africa’s longest river, forces itself through a narrow rock path (seven meters wide), before strikingly dipping down 43 meters.

It is an incredible photo opportunity. After an hour or less at the top of the falls, you'll proceed with the day’s drive to Kampala, where you'll arrive in the evening. Large enroute upon reaching Kampala, the drive will transfer you to your hotel or drop you at Entebbe. This marks the end of the three exciting days' safari to Murchison Falls National Park.
