It has four triple rooms with one interconnecting room, six luxury tented camps, and two rooms suited for persons with disability. The open sitting restaurant located in the main building overlooks the dam at all angles and can sit a maximum of 150 guests.

The wooden deck shaded by canvas umbrellas can be used as extra sitting place during meal times. The buffet platforms, both warm and cold, sit in the middle of the restaurant for easy access. The lounge is located in the main building sectored away from the main dining area. The décor has an African touch that makes it a wonderful place to pass time and relax. There is a variety drinks served and include liqueur, soft drinks, cocktails, wines, and spirits, local and international beers.

The sitting capacity is about 60 guests. After a grueling game drive, you can take a dip in the swimming pool or simply relax by the pool which overlooks the game park. This is the perfect place to relax and laze around in the calm afternoons. You will be staying here on the first night of the safari.

Kilaguni serena lodge

Superbly situated in the lee of Mount Kilimanjaro and sheltered by the volcanic splendor of the Chyulu Hills, this classic stone-built lodge overlooks its own water hole, which is visited daily by elephants, buffaloes, and a wide variety of plains game. One of the first lodges ever to be built in a national park, the lodge is cool, tranquil, and hushed for optimum game viewing. It is also ideally placed for visits to all the park's prime attractions.

Faced in volcanic stone and utilizing the natural rocky outcrops of a valley known as ‘the place of the young rhino', from which it takes its name, the lodge features a thatched central dining area and a rock-built bar, with a viewing terrace looking directly down on to the waterhole.

All the spacious ensuite rooms have their own verandas, some overlooking the waterhole, some the Chyulu Hills, which are one of the world's youngest volcanic ranges. As for activities, the lodge offers numerous game drives, guided walks, bush breakfasts, volcano climbs, and trips to Mzima Springs, a set of crystal-clear ponds fed by the melt waters of Mount Kilimanjaro, in which the many hippos can be viewed from a submerged chamber.

You will be staying here on the last night of the safari.

Tsavo National Park

Tsavo National Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya at 13,747 square kilometers. Situated in a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru Desert, it opened in April 1948. It is located near the town of Voi in the Taita-Taveta District of Coast Province. The park is divided into east and west sections by the A109 road and a railway.

Named for the Tsavo River, which flows west to east through the national park, it borders the Chyulu Hills National Park and the Mkomazi Game Reserve in Tanzania.

The park can be accessed by three main gates, from Voi through the Manyani gate, from Mombasa through the Bachuma gate, or from Malindi through the Sala gate. There are also several airstrips in the park that allow chartered light planes. Inside the park, the Athi and Tsavo rivers converge to form the Galana River.

Most of the park consists of semi-arid grasslands and savanna. It is considered one of the world's biodiversity strongholds, and its popularity is mostly due to the vast amounts of the diverse wildlife that can be seen, including the famous 'Big five' consisting of Masai lion, black rhino, cape buffalo, elephant, and leopard. The park is also home to a great variety of bird life such as the black kite, Crowned crane, lovebird, and the sacred ibis.

The slightly larger Tsavo East National Park is generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. Other features include the Yatta Plateau and Lugard Falls. Tsavo West National Park is more mountainous and wetter than its counterpart, with swamps, Lake Jipe and the Mzima Springs. It is known for bird life and for its large mammals. It is also home to a black rhino sanctuary.
