Thrilling Wildlife Tour in Peru

Come and join Ecological Jungle Trips to feel the thrill of this jungle adventure trip. You will stay at Ecological Jungle Trips Lodge during this tour. It is a beautiful haven, distributed in rooms based on double and triple beds. Built and designed with materials of the forest, has a spacious dining room, and reception areas for hammocks. It’s a basic comfort. By night, lighting is based on lamps and lanterns. But the area where the lodge is located, at the damping zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, is very interesting because the beautiful lakes with small and large rivers can be seen. The lodge provides the generator to supply a certain time to charge the batteries of electronic equipment such as cameras, phones, cameras, etc. On the last night, you will be camping outside the area of the lodge.


Day 1: Iquitos - Nauta - Ecological Jungle Trips

At 08:00, you will be picked up from the hotel or airport reception and transferred to the town of Nauta by road in a private auto. Along the way, you will see small villages of farmers settled on the sides of the road. The trip lasts for one hour and 45 minutes approximately. After arrival in the town of Nauta, you will board the boats that will take you to your accommodation which is two hours and 30 minutes sailing in a typical boat upstream along the Maranon, Amazonas and Ucayali rivers. And then, end up in the Yarapa River where the accommodation is located.

You will have an allocation of private rooms and program information to follow. You will go for a walk deep into the primary forest, knowing part of the flora and fauna of the area, approximately two hours. Return to the lodge and have lunch. Visit an Amazon village to see their daily activities and keep browsing the Ucayali River to watch grey and pink dolphins. Have dinner. At night time indicated by the guide, you will perform the canoe trip in order to observe varieties of birds, monkeys, and insects at night. Stay night at the lodge.

Day 2: Ecological Jungle Trips - lodge and excursions

Continuing tours, you will walk through the jungle to see varieties of families of monkeys, insects, spiders, in their habitat. Have breakfast at the lodge and go for a tour. Go for a boat ride to see different birds like parrots, jacanas, kingfishers, herons, panguana, partridges, doves, and camungos. Then continue the tours where you can see the perezoso bears (sloth) and varieties of night monkeys, squirrel, stump, iguanas, butterflies, etc. Have lunch. You will have orientation walk in the jungle to talk about medicinal plants and industrial trees while learning about the art of survival using the elements of the Amazon jungle. At the indicated time, the guide will continue the program as night walks and excursions by boat to observe the nocturnal life in the forest while listening to the night sounds different. Stay night at the lodge.

Day 3: Ecological Jungle Trips - overnight camping

Very early in the morning, you will see the sunrise in the heart of the jungle. You will continue with hiking, morning canoe or motorboat by Yarapa River in order to observe more varieties of birds in their habitat, some varieties of birds named hoatzin (hoatzin), large forest tinamous, undulated tinamou (crypturellus undulatus), scarlet macaw (ara macaw) etc. Have breakfast and return to the lodge. Lunch will be at the Lodge.

When time indicates for camping, you will check out of your lodge in an area where you will spend the night and explore in the day and night to find several species of nocturnal animals such as alligators, frogs, owl monkeys, nocturnal birds, insects, etc .

Day 4: Ecological Jungle Trips - Nauta - Iquitos

Have breakfast at the camp and return to the lodge browsing small lakes and rivers of the Amazon rainforest, observation and some other species not seen during the Victoria Regia, orchids, mono leoncillo (pygmy marmoset), etc. Enjoy the program. Have lunch and return to the city of Nauta to continue to the city of Iquitos. End of your program will be in the Iquitos office.

Notes: passengers are required to arrive in the first flight of the day, otherwise take a night in Iquitos, to start the tour early.

You will visit a small local community to see the different lifestyle that leads people of the jungle.


This tour will be located 240 kilometers from the Iquitos city along Yarapa River, at the damping zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Peru.


You will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner cooked based on delicious Peruvian dishes, prepared by the staff of the Amazon Lodge. If there are vegetarians in the group, please let them know in advance.
