Day 1: Iquitos - Nauta - Ecological Jungle Trips

At 08:00, Ecological Jungle Trips will pick you up from hotel or Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport (IQT)'s reception and transfer you to the town of Nauta, by road in a private car.

On the way to Nauta, you will observe the small villages of farmers settled on the sides of the road. The trip lasts for one hour and 45 minutes approximately. After arrival in the town of Nauta, you will board the boats that will take you to the hostel, which is two hours and 30 minutes sailing in a typical boat upstream the Maranon, Amazon, and Ucayali rivers. Then, you will end up in the Yarapa River where the hostel is located.

You will have allocation of private rooms and program information to follow. Go for a walking deep into the primary forest, knowing part of the flora and fauna of the area, approximately two hours. Then, you will return to the lodge and have lunch. You will visit an Amazon village to see their daily activities and keep browsing the Ucayali River to watch dolphins (grey and pink). Then, you will have dinner. A night time, indicated by the guide, you will perform the canoe trip in order to see different nocturnal species. The night will be at the lodge.

Day 2: Ecological Jungle Trips - Yarapa River

You will be going very early for a walk in the jungle to see varieties of families of monkeys, insects, and spiders in their habitat. Then, you will have breakfast and tour over the Yarapa River with a motorboat for bird watching and other species. You will then have lunch and an orientation walk in the jungle to talk about medicinal, industrial plants and also learn about the art of survival using the elements of the Amazon jungle. Then, you will have dinner and a time indicated by the night hike guide for some kinds of insects, frogs, and other species. The night will be at the lodge.

Day 3: Ecological Jungle Trips - Iquitos

You will have early canoe ride down the Yarapa River in order to observe more varieties of birds in their habitat. Some varieties of birds named hoatzin, large forest tinamous, undulated tianamou (Crypturellus undulatus), scarlet macaw (Ara macaw), tucan, etc. Then, you will have breakfast and do the recreational program to see piranhas and other species such as catfish, tucunare, bujurquis, acarahuasu, sardines in the lagoon near the lodge. You will then return to the lodge and have lunch. At the indicated time, you will return to the city of Nauta and then to the city of Iquitos. This is the end of the program. You can go to Ecological Jungle Trips's office or Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport (IQT) in Iquitos.

Notes: Passengers are required to arrive in the first flight of the day, otherwise you can take a night in Iquitos to start the tour early.

You will visit small local communities to see the different lifestyle that leads people of the jungle.

This tour will be located 240 kilometers from the Iquitos city along Yarapa River, at the damping zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Peru.
