Daily itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Chitwan National Park premises and transfer to jungle lodge or resorts
The trip starts with a morning drive from Kathmandu on an exciting highway passing farm villages and towns following the Trisuli River. Then after a few hours (five to six approximately), you reach the south flat land of Nepal, known as the Terai belt. And, here lies the Chitwan National Park with deep dense forest all around. On reaching Chitwan, you will be transferred to one of the nice hotels or resorts near the park premises' buffer zone. Then in the afternoon, you can do leisurely nature walks or visit Tharu village, a native of Chitwan and Nepal Terai areas.
Day 2: Full-day jungle activities with jeep ride and jungle walks
Today is the day for jungle activities as per the park- and hotel-set program. It includes different groups with elephant breeding and bathing (depending upon the depth or size of the river at different seasons) and nature walks. Also, the jungle walk includes visits to the tower (Machan) and jungle drives. In the afternoon, include jungle activities of two or three hours with enough refreshing time. And, the evening program includes a slide show on Chitwan National Park and its history, flora, and wildlife.
Also, it includes the local Tharu cultural stick dance program before dinner is served around 8:00 p.m. onward. The jungle activities include a bird-watching tour, a Machan (watch tower) tour, jungle walks, nature walks, and jeep safari. Nevertheless, it also includes a visit to the elephant breeding center and elephant bathing as well. Also, it provides the entertainment of local Tharu cultural programs.
Day 3: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel
With early morning nature activities and breakfast, you take an exciting drive to Kathmandu. The journey continues following the Trisuli River upstream for a few hours and then uphill to reach Kathmandu Valley. Then, from the highest point of the valley rim, you take a short drive of an hour to experience the hustle-bustle city life of Kathmandu. And then finally, you transfer to your hotel and this is how you conclude your jungle safari on the Chitwan trip.
