Victoria Falls, on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, has some of the most breathtaking views you’ll encounter on the African continent. From the wild banks of the Zambezi River, and the animals that call the banks home, to the world-famous spray and exceptional Victoria Falls activities offered in the area, a trip to the falls is nothing short of exceptional.
The Victoria Falls' history is multi-dimensional and shapes how you experience this natural wonder today. For many years, travelers have been wowed by the unearthly beauty of the magnificent falls. As Doctor Livingstone once said many years ago, when gazing upon the Victoria Falls, he saw “scenes so lovely they must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight.”
The massive sheet of falling water and the spray it produces is both mesmerizing and awe-inspiring. The dense rain forest on the Zimbabwean side of the falls is an enigma. Housing over 400 plant species and teeming with small antelope, primates, and birds, it is reason enough to visit.
The nearby Victoria Falls National Park, and the towns of Victoria Falls and Livingstone, offer additional pleasures to the discerning visitor. Here, you can enjoy an excess of adventurous and nature-based activities, from laid-back walks and cultural trips, to the adrenaline rush of rafting and bungee jumping.
You will be provided with daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner during this safari. Meals are served in one sitting only in the charming Victorian atmosphere of the dining cars and are complemented by a selection of fine South African wines. An enthusiastic team of chefs is responsible for overseeing the very important task of ensuring guests’ every need is catered for. There’s an accent on fresh local ingredients and traditional dishes such as game are a specialty.
Breakfast is between 07:00 and 10:00 a.m., lunch at 01:00 p.m., tea at 04:30 p.m., and a formal dinner at 07:30 p.m. A gong heralds lunch and dinner.
