For anyone looking to book an organized safari in Tanzania, I couldn't recommend Earthlife Expeditions strongly enough. Deo and his wonderful team organized a fabulous safari for us with excellent accommodation options. Deo was extremely organized and very flexible and accommodating when we needed changes made to our itinerary. The star of the show, however, was Abu our amazing guide. A wonderful man with a wealth of knowledge. He truly made our safari a trip of a lifetime and we would strongly recommend him to anyone looking to book their safari.
From our first inquiry, it was obvious that Earthlife Expeditions knew what they were doing. They took the effort out of having to review hundreds of different accommodation options. And yet they were flexible with our desires to alter the itinerary and include accommodation that had been recommended to us.
Our guide, Gilbert was great. Nothing was too much trouble, whether it be late airport pick-ups, early airport drop offs, finding ATMs, finding places to change money or dietary requirements. Definitely saw more animals with Gilbert than we would have otherwise, he has a superhero vision. We can't wait for our next safari with Earthlife Expeditions.

Before my safari trip to Tanzania, I contacted lots of Safari companies located in the US and Tanzania, and Earthlife is the best one who always responded me as soon as I send out my question. Because of this, I decided to hire them for the safari.
It turned out my decision was correct. Everything worked great! We especially loved the moving tent we stayed in Serengeti. When we had dinner in the tent, lions were eating 200 meters away from us at the same time. My guide was Goodluck, who was very responsible. All in all, I would recommend this company.
We just came back from a fantastic vacation in Tanzania. We made a thorough analysis before our trip since we had à good idea of what we wanted. Deo understood our needs and proposed the perfect vacation for our family of 4. Hè is really involved and we saw him both at the beginning and at the end of the safari. Our boys are 8 and 10. Our guide Junior was the perfect guide for us. Hè could keep the boys attention with no effort and hè was really funny and knowledgeable. We also had a jeep with additional space in the back. All in all, an unforgettable experience with real professionals that understood our needs.

First of all I must tell you we had a great experience with Earthlife. I inquired with many companies and in the end I chose Earthlife because of the personal and professional communication that Deo (owner) had with me and his reasonable pricing. They are a small company that is working really hard to establish their reputation through excellent service. Really, Deo gave me the "best feel" with his correspondence and so I followed my gut and was not disappointed.
I wired my money, crossed my fingers and before we knew it were landing in Dar es Salaam. I hoped when I got out of the airport exhausted at 11:00pm that I would have a ride to a hotel. And indeed, a driver was waiting! From that moment until our departure the planning of our trip was impeccable. My husband and I never worried once that something would be missed.
Unlike many trips, we started in Zanzibar. This was great as it allowed us to recover from jet lag before hitting the dusty roads of the Serengeti. We stayed at the Next Paradise which was a beautiful boutique hotel with excellent service and food. Though Zanzibar has beautiful coasts, it is quite touristy and the part of our trip I would forego if I had to cut something out.
From Zanzibar we flew to Arusha where Deo picked us up personally and gave us our pre-safari briefing before meeting our guide the next day. A shout out to Aggrey who was our safari guide. We were impressed with his knowledge about the animals and he was excellent at spotting and anticipating their behavior. He worked hard to find unique experiences and place us in the best possible viewing spot. Not to mention he handled the Land Cruiser with savvy off road skills and had a great sense of humor. We saw every animal we hoped to and more. In addition to wildlife viewing, Earthlife did a great job of including cultural activities that allowed us to meet and enjoy the variety of people that make up Tanzania.
We stayed in a combination of tent camps and lodges all of which were excellent. Our favorite were the Mbugani Serengeti Tented camps. They have perfected the art of "glamping" with solar power, hot water, flush toilets, king size beds, excellent food and warm hospitality in the middle of the Serengeti. Quite impressive. Our favorite lodge was the Tarangire Osupuko Lodge. It sat on the edge of Taragire park were we could sit on our terrace and watch elephants, zebras, giraffes, baboons and more come out in the evening often making their way to the river.
Deo is working hard to make the best experiences for his clients and he adds a personal touch. At the end of trip we had a late flight and so he had us to his house where his wife Catherine treated us to some delicious Tanzanian cooking and we played cards with his family.
Go to Tanzania! It is safe, beautiful and the service and hospitality are some of the best I have ever had. Earthlife did an amazing job at putting together a trip of a lifetime. Thank you Deo, Aggrey, Catherine and Earthlife Staff!

Selecting an overseas trip from the US can be overwhelming with many options. Then, you need to wire significant dollars to a foreign entity which also requires a leap of faith. I can vouch for Earthlife Expeditions as being a trustworthy, experienced, and responsible organization that handholds their clients from start to finish. I am a mother who brought her 15 year old son on a one-on-one trip on a safari and two cultural tours. Our guide, Gilbert, went out of his way to be accommodating and always prioritized our safety. Tips are expensive but a good guide earns every dollar. The lodging ranged from Serengeti simple to having gorgeous views of Lake Marynara. We had our own private visit at a Masaii Village which was also unique and eye-opening experience. Both my son and I had a very positive and memorable trip!
