Camel Gate Lodge (2 nights)

Camel’s Gate Lodge can be found in Samburu county, in central Kenya. Located in Archer’s Post, just 10 minutes to Samburu National Park, it is situated in a quiet area a few 100 meters from the Great North Road that connects Kenya and Ethiopia.

One can reach the lodge by road transport, which takes approximately a five to six-hour drive. From Nairobi to the park via air transport, it will take an hour of flying from Nairobi to the close Kalama or Oryx airstrip, then a 30-minute drive to be transferred to the lodge.

The camp is convenient and affordable to guests visiting the area, with its spectacular views stretching across the wilderness and the wildlife, especially elephants, visiting the camp.

Hotel Citymax (1 night)

Hotel Citymax offers comfortable single, double, and deluxe rooms designed for convenience and efficiency. They also have an in-house restaurant, bar, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool set in lush gardens.

Each air-conditioned room is equipped with a flat screen television with satellite connection, plug-and-play panels, direct dial international telephone, complementary high-speed Internet access, mini bar, electronic personal safety deposit box, and complementary tea and coffee making facilities. Miti Mingi Eco Camp (2 nights)

The camp is situated within the Masai Mara eco-system and on the banks of Ololaimutia River, which is a watering point for most of the wild animals, especially elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, etc. This small and exclusive campsite comprises 25 tents.

The tents are furnished with all the amenities required by the modern traveler. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron, and crisp cotton, each tent has been meticulously planned to maximize comfort. All tents have four-poster beds and mosquito nets, ensuite with shower, water closet, flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and electricity with a voltage of 240 volts.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve

The safari will start with pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport, followed by departure north to Samburu Game Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch before taking an afternoon game drive to Samburu Game Reserve.

This beautiful park is home to rarely found species such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, and beautiful blue-necked Somali ostrich. Then, have dinner and stay overnight at Camel Lodge.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

You will spend a full day exploring the Samburu Reserve and its diverse species of game. The reserve is rich in wildlife, with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and the Beisa oryx (Also referred to as the Samburu special).

The reserve is also popular because of its minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the lion, leopard, and cheetah are an important attraction as well. You'll have dinner at the Camel Lodge.

Day 3: Samburu - Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, depart Samburu National Reserve via the Great Rift Valley for Lake Nakuru National Park, one of the world’s most well-known bird sanctuaries for birdwatching lovers. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch.

Enjoy your lunch freely as you refresh waiting for a wonderful afternoon game drive. At 15:30, depart for the game drive, a wonderful game viewing and birdwatching until late evening. Then, have dinner at the budget hotel.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara

Depart Lake Nakuru National Park for Maasai Mara with lunch enroute. You'll drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, wherein you will have the chance to take photos with a great view of the valley.

Then, proceed to the Maasai Mara National Reserve and have lunch at Narok town. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains, famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration. It is also home of the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino.

On arrival proceed for an evening game drive, tracking various animal species and birds with your driver / guide. Then, have dinner and stay overnight at Miti Mingi Eco Camp.

Day 5: Maasai Mara (full day)

After breakfast, you will depart with picnic lunchboxes for a full day game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. A Masai Mara safari is an unmissable highlight of any holiday in Kenya. It has breathtaking panoramas in every direction, a vast range of wildlife including the Big Five, and a rich cultural heritage to explore.

Kenya’s Masai Mara is, without doubt, one of the greatest safari destinations in Africa. Between July and October, things get busy in the Great Migration. Millions of zebras and wildebeests make the perilous crossing across the Masai Mara in search of new grazing territory, and in their wake comes a veritable horde of predators including lion and leopard.

Drones Africa Safaris's guide will make sure that you get the best photographic opportunities as well as enrich you with the different amazing cultural practices of the local communities of Maasai people. You'll then have dinner and stay overnight at Miti Mingi Eco Camp.

Day 6: Maasai Mara - Nairobi

In the early morning, you will have a short game drive in the park. Then, depart the Masai Mara region for Nairobi with lunch enroute. You will arrive in the evening and be dropped off at the airport for your journey back home. Bid farewell to your guide, with a promise to join Drones Africa Safaris on another adventure.
