This is an amazing adventure where one is able to experience the wilderness of both countries in one safari. The Safari will take you from Kenya to Tanzania visiting Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. You will delight in the contrasting scenery and spectacular wildlife.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

Between 7:30 and 8 a.m., you will be picked up from your hotel and depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, via the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. Stop at Narok town for a buffet lunch. Later you will continue driving to Maasai Mara National Park, arriving at camp in time evening game drive. You will have a little siesta and later proceed on the first introduction game viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve, before returning to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Masai Mara

After breakfast, proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network which allows for close-range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara - Nakuru

After breakfast, depart the Mara region for Nakuru. Have lunch en route, with scenic views of Mt. Longmont and Lake Naivasha from afar on the main highway. Dinner and overnight at the mid-range or budget hotel.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Amboseli

After breakfast, you will proceed on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its prolific birdlife including flamingoes. The park contains a sanctuary for the conservation of the white rhino while species like Cape buffalo and waterbuck can be seen near the shoreline. Drive to Amboseli National Park, arriving in the late evening. Dinner and overnight at the lodge / camp.

Day 5: Amboseli full day

A day of game drives in this park which contains swamp grounds in which elephants and hippos bathe in abundance. A variety of plains game, antelopes, and birds can also be seen, and Mt. Kilimanjaro’s peak too, if weather conditions permit. Enjoy a picnic lunch, then return to the camp/lodge.

Day 6: Amboseli - Arusha

Early morning after breakfast, proceed for final game viewing en route out to Namanga border point for immigration formalities. Later, board the scheduled shuttle bus to Arusha. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to a budget hotel for overnight – booked on bed and breakfast. Your dinner is available at an extra cost.

Day 7: Arusha - Serengeti National Park

Pick up from your hotel in Arusha and drive to Serengeti National Park. You will have lunch on the way. Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game viewing. Annually from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration that brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle. Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephants, giraffes, and buffalo. As the lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals stalk them. Dinner and overnight at the chosen hotel.

Day 8: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, enjoy a short game drive in Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch, until noon, when you will have again game drive to see the beauty of this great park. After lunch, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight at the chosen hotel.

Day 9: Ngorongoro - Arusha

After early breakfast around 05:50 a.m., you will descend down the crater at 6 a.m. for 6-7 hours of a game drive, with a picnic lunch. Venture onto the crater floor for an up-close at the residents of this World Heritage Site and enjoy a picnic lunch here. The Ngorongoro Crater provides great game viewing all year round. The wildlife here makes up a permanent population because grazing and water supplies are plentiful throughout the seasons. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha and is dropped at the Ambassador Hotel.

Day 10: Arusha - Nairobi Airport

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel to catch a shuttle bus to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. Drop off at the airport to fly back home or to your Nairobi hotel.

Location

The safari will cover several places in Kenya and Tanzania. Starting in Nairobi, you will visit Maasai Mara National Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Park, Amboseli National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Serengeti National Park before returning to Nairobi.

You will be served meals as outlined in the itinerary. One liter of drinking water per day is also offered.
