Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Hwange National Park - night game drive

Upon arrival at the Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA), you will be met by your guide / driver and transferred to Hwange Safari Lodge, only two hours’ drive in tarred roads. After check-in, you will embark on a late afternoon game drive in Hwange Safari Lodge estate which borders with Hwange National Park. There are no fences between the main park and this estate. This will be a three hours’ drive which extends well into the night and there are good chances of encountering the big cats. Dinner and overnight will be at the Hwange Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Safari in Hwange National Park

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for the full day safari in the Hwange National Park using the main camp gate. Mineral water, soft drinks, picnic lunch, and lots of refreshments will be provided and you will use one of the many viewing platforms that dot the park for lunches. You will be back at the lodge at around 16:00.

The elephants of Hwange are world famous and the park's elephant population is one of the largest in the world. The park is home to over 65,000 elephants who in the dry season dominate all the water points in the afternoons. Other animals that can be seen in the park are lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, buffalos, impalas, kudus, sables, elands, waterbucks, zebras, giraffes, baboons, warthogs, and a lot more. Dinner and overnight will be at the Hwange Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Safari in Hwange National Park

Hwange provides a safari experience to rival the great parks of East Africa, the Serengeti and Maasai Mara, but without the crowds. You will have another fun-filled day in the park. Now, you will be able to look for your favorite animal or bird and even ignoring the other common species. On a good day, you may even return to the lodge earlier as you will have seen all there is to be seen. Dinner and overnight will be at the Hwange Safari Lodge.

Day 4: Road transfer from Hwange National Park to Victoria Falls

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Victoria Falls in air-conditioned vans on a two hours' trip. After check-in, you will head to the Victoria Falls via the big baobab tree for the guided tour. The walk on this two-kilometers’ stretch lasts for about two hours and nothing prepares the visitor for the heart-stopping experience. The sight, the sound, the smell, and the humbling feeling that here is, without doubt, nature's masterpiece. Mineral water and return transfers are included.

You will pass by the open curio markets for your souvenir shopping. At 16:00, you will be transferred to the jetty for the relaxing Zambezi River sunset cruise. You will relax with a sun-downer drinks and snacks as you gaze out onto the banks of the river. Please have your camera ready to capture one of the amazing sunsets in Africa. This is a two-hour boat trip with all drinks, snacks, and return transfers. You will expect to be back at the hotel at about 19:00. Overnight will be at Elephant Hills Resort Bed and Breakfast.

Day 5: Chobe National Park

On this day, you will be collected from your hotel at 07:30 for the full day safari in the Chobe National Park in Botswana. You do not have to wait until you cross the border into Botswana to start enjoying the game viewing as you will be driving through the Zambezi National Park for 70 kilometers to the Botswana border.

The safari will start with a game boat cruise on the Chobe River. This will be three hours of game viewing from the boat. You will have a buffet lunch at the four-star Chobe Safari Lodge. After lunch, it will be time to take to the Chobe National Park in custom made 4x4 safari vehicles for a three-hour afternoon game drive. You will visit the upper Chobe River part that is not accessible by boats. This is where you will get to see the shy predators (lions, hyena, cheetah, and sometimes leopards) at times on their kills. You will leave the park at about 16:30 for the drive back to Victoria Falls in comfortable air-conditioned minibusses. You can plan your own dinner arrangements. Overnight will be at the Elephant Hills Resort Bed and Breakfast.

Day 6: Transfer to the airport

This will be your last day in Victoria Falls and your airport transfer time will depend on your flight times. You may also do one or two more optional tours in the morning before leaving for the airport. You will be transferred to Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA).

This safari will take place in Hwange National Park, Victoria Falls, and Zambezi River in Zimbabwe and Chobe National Park in Botswana.

Hwange National Park

Formerly the royal hunting reserve for the Ndebele King (Mzilikazi), Hwange Parks is a prime wildlife area set aside for this sole purpose which is conservation and preservation of wildlife. Its sheer size (14,000 square kilometers, which are roughly the size of Belgium) ensures the free roaming of the Big Five, lots of other smaller plains game, and smaller predators.

The park is subdivided into three camps which are the Robins Camp area known for its game infested waterholes, the Sinamathela Camp area famous for the panoramic views and close to 100% chances of encountering lions, rhinos, and elusive leopard, and the Main Camp area where sightings of the Big Five (on multi-day trips) are not uncommon. There are around 450 species of wildlife making this park one of the ornithologists’ paradise and more than 100 species of wildlife.

Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park consists of 11,700 square kilometers of pristine wilderness bordered in the north by the glorious Chobe River. All angles are protected by wildlife management areas and forest reserves allowing for the free movement of wildlife. Chobe National Park is one of the best wilderness reserves in the world and is home to the largest concentration of elephants in the region. Throughout the year, herds of buffalo and elephant can be seen drinking at the river’s edge with their numbers rising into hundreds and thousands during the dry season. It is the only park where one has a realistic chance of encountering lions and an incredible variety of other wildlife species on a one-day trip
