This safari will take place in Kenya. Tsavo park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust-red elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbuck, lesser kudu, and gerenuk. The prolific bird life features 500 recorded species. Tsavo is historically famous for the Maneaters of Tsavo, two maneless lions that developed a taste for human prey during the early 1900's. They were eventually shot after killing 130 people who were working on the Mombasa-Nairobi railway line.

Today tourists can see the large pride of lion which calls the Tsavo National Park home. One of the park's most recognizable features is the Yatta Plateau which is the longest lava flow in the world, stretching for over 300 kilometers (185 miles). Another attraction is the Lugards Falls, where the Galana River cascades over a series of rapids created by interestingly shaped rocks. The park offers the quintessential safari experience, and the game viewing is usually best around water sources such as the Aruba Dam.

The park is home to a good population of giraffe, many zebra, impalas, and gazelles, as well as irascible buffaloes. Predators are represented by the large pride of lions, elusive leopards, and the fastest animal on land - the cheetah. It was also a major battleground between the British and Germans during World War I. Today, the region is much more tranquil and is known for its red-colored elephants that love to dust bath in the red colored soil.

The park has many interesting geological features due to volcanic activity. Walking safaris are a great way to take in the beautiful savannah scenery as well as see the Shetani Lava flow. This is estimated to have been from an eruption 200 years ago. It covers an area of 50 square kilometers and has interesting caves to explore such as the Shetani Cave.
